The rest of the day flew by. Ele and I explored the castle with Fyn. It really was breathtaking and we found the most beautiful fountain by the Isle of Semele tower. The stained glass refracted the sunlight onto the cerulean water of the fountain, seeming to create prismatic images of sirens and seahorses in vibrant purples and pulsating greens.

I found myself inexplicably drawn to it. I would've sat and watched it for hours if Fyn hadn't dragged us off to take a proper look at the Undergarden.

Seeing the forest we had driven over from so high above up close was unreal. Miles and miles of exotic plants spanned beyond the Coliseum.

I turned to the plant closest to me. It had long pointed leaves that transitioned from a dark moss green to an electric purple. The leaves turned and twisted around themselves creating various intricate shapes.

Moving closer, a sweet, fruity aroma assaulted my nostrils and I sighed leaning my head back to take in the panoramic view from the first floor.

I pressed forward enjoying the soothing forest sounds before smacking straight into what felt like a brick wall.

"Oof" I mumbled, steadying myself and trying to walk around whatever magical plant I walked into.

But to my immense surprise, I found myself staring up at Aester. And he did not look happy.

"Oh, sorry, I should've-" I began.

"Been watching were you were going, yes," he growled, completing my sentence and then proceeding to glare at me.

It took me a moment to realize he was waiting for me to move.

"Uh yeah sorry again," I repeated, as I moved out of the way, to no reply.

"Where are you going?" I asked, attempting conversation.

"Away from here," he said, clearly not willing to.

"Are you always so blunt?"

"Only to annoying humans who insist on talking to me," he snarled, continuing to walk away.

Won't be becoming friends with him anytime soon, I thought to myself, rolling my eyes as I walked forward looking for Fyn and Ele.

I crashed onto my bed exhausted. Exploring the grounds had been much more tiring than I had expected and all I needed right then was a good night's sleep.

I closed my eyes, Fyn's deep breathing the only sound in the room, the calm of it punctuated now and then by Odelyn's snoring.

I rolled over. Maybe sleeping on my side will help, I thought futilely. After about three hours of restless tossing and turning, I decided to go for a walk.
