Chapter 22: Taylor

I grabbed Roan's arm and pulled him around the side of the building. Of course he was complained the whole time.

"What are you doing? You can't just manhandle me! I'm not just a piece of meat you can tug around whenever you want!"

I didn't heed anything he said. When I finally seized to a halt, I started to dig through my bag until my hand grasped my small leather satchel that carried my vials or potions and other sorts of magic. I opened the satchel and grabbed the vial with clear liquid in it titled "Stealth of Artemis."

"A ha!" I exclaimed with happiness.

Roan was just confused, "What is that? Why are you staring at it like it's the best piece of chocolate you've ever seen?"

I looked up to him, "It's a spell that allows us to be hidden from the plain eye. Artemis used it on her hunts so the animals would not sense her coming."

He raised his eyebrow, "So basically it's an invisibility potion?"

"Uh no. It is more like people's senses do not pick up on you. It makes you more like a shadow in their eye," I explained.

"So an Invisibility spell," he repeated again to my annoyance.

"No!" I yelled, "There is no such thing as an invisibility spell!" I then shoved the vial toward him, "Drink this."

He took a step back and waved his hands in front of his body, "Nope. I will not drink a mysterious potion. Even though we're mates and all, you could just be using the whole 'invisibility' thing to poison me," he said as he gave me the stink eye. I just glared at him.

"First off, if I wanted to kill you, I have much more fun ways to do so. The Underworld has a huge Venus Fly Trap. Second, I was being nice by letting you drink it first because it can take a hot sec for you to see the one inflicted by the potion, and third, IT IS NOT AN INVISIBILITY SPELL!" I finished as I took a swing from the vial.

Within seconds, I felt a slight tingle, as if my body was a cloud only anchored to the earth by a rope. Everything around me looked the same, but from the blank facial expression Roan wore, I knew he couldn't see me.

"Where'd ya go?" He said as he started craning his head in different directions. If I moved rapidly and talked loud enough, I knew his senses would finally pick up on me being only a foot in front of him.

So I did what any rational person would do: I decided to pinch him.

"Ow!" He swat his arm out in front of him, as if that was where I was standing. Jokes on him, because I stood on his left side. Because I knew he couldn't see me, I allowed my eyes to observe his body. His arms were evidently toned through his skin tight long sleeve. I noticed veins emerge right at the hem and travel up his hands. For some reason I was really attracted to veiny arms. His face spotted slight stubble, and his brown eyes had hints of hazel in them.

I moved my eyes to look down at his abs. His stomach was completely flat, but I knew if I moved his shirt I would find a six pack or something along those lines. I started to move my eyes even lower, but then I stopped myself. I would not become a creep... but I swore I saw a slight bulge. He was attractive.

I started to pinch him more to distract myself from how appealing I found his body. His frantic movements made me let out a laugh. His body straightened up at the sound. His senses must be adapting. Finally his eyes registered my own.

"'Not an invisibility spell' my ass," he said to me as he promptly reached over, grabbed the vial, and drank the rest of the contents. I think he thought that he was going to disappear from my senses as well, but that was not the case. I've taken this charm too many times to lose touch with my surroundings.
