In the evening I decided to join Martha and Jenny at the local pub as Martha brings three pints to a table outside.

"Ooo, it's freezing out here. Why can't we have a drink inside the pub?" Martha complains

"Now don't be ridiculous. You do get these notions! It's all very well, those Suffragettes. but that's London. That's miles away." Jenny reminds her

"But don't you just want to scream sometimes, having to bow and scrape and behave. Don't you just want to tell them?" I ask Jenny

"I don't know. Well it's alright for you Aria you're a qualified matron you don't have to do the jobs that Martha and I have to do." Jenny tells me

"Yeah, well thank God we're not staying." I tell Jenny as I refer to Martha and I,

"You keep saying that." Jenny says

"Just you wait. One more month and we're as free as the wind. I wish you could come with us, Jenny. You'd love it." Martha smiles

"Where are you going to go?"

"Anywhere. Just look up there. Imagine you could go all the way out to the stars."

"You don't half say mad things."

"That's where I'm going. Into the sky, all the way out." Martha trails off,

"Here did you hear about that training professor under Mister Smith's watch." Jenny says to Martha and I and that grabs my attention because I know that she is talking about Will.

"No what about him?" I ask curiously

"The other maids were talking about him, apparently he has taken quite the liking to Penny." She tells me and I frown in confusion

"The short blonde girl? Where did you hear that?" I asked her

"From the maids today and this isn't some little school rumour she said it herself, she said that yesterday afternoon on the lunch hour he and her spent that time together having lunch and getting to know each other. She also said that he had asked her to the dance at the village hall tomorrow evening." Jenny explained and before I had a chance to react to the information I was just told I see something flash in the sky.

"Did you see that?" I ask

"See what?" Jenny asked

"Did you see it, though? Right up there, just for a second." I point to the sky

"Aria, there's nothing there." Jenny laughs a little bit and very shortly I see Joan running

"Matron, are you all right?" Martha asked her

"Did you see that? There was something in the woods. This light." She says out of breath just as The Doctor arrives with Will by his side

"Anything wrong, ladies? Far too cold to be standing around in the dark, don't you think?" The Doctor says to us all.

"There, there. Look in the sky." Joan points out as a light crosses the sky.

"Oh, that's beautiful." Jenny says in awe

"All gone. Commonly known as a meteorite. It's just rocks falling to the ground, that's all." The Doctor explains

"It came down in the woods." Joan tells him

"No, no, no. No, they always look close, when actually they're miles off. Nothing left but a cinder. Now, I should escort you back to the school. Ladies?" The Doctor says to us all

"No, we're fine, thanks." I tell him

"Then I shall bid you goodnight." The Doctor and Joan leave but Will stays and walks over for Martha, Jenny and I.
