Chapter 12: Training

Lady Letizia told me some things about Zephyr- Prince Zephyr, I rather. Well, she didn't told me everything, but at least she told me some. Hindi ko nga alam kung paano ako napapayag sa kondisyon ni Zephyr nang hindi man lang umaangal. Pero isa lang ang alam ko. I'm doing this for my own sake, for myself and for me to be able to go home.

"You have a deal?" Lady Letizia asked.

Napairap na lang ako dahil sa pagkakadulas ng aking dila. Kinuwento ko kasi sa kaniya ang lahat ng nangyari kanina. Kaya naman pati ang napag-usapan naming deal ni Zephyr ay nabanggit ko na. Wala talaga akong balak na sabihin sa kaniya iyon, pero wala na akong choice. Nadulas eh.

Marahan akong tumango. She just looked at me, waiting for me to tell her our deal.

"Zeph-" I stopped, realizing what I've just said. I rolled my eyes.

"Prince Zephyr started it. He told me that if I lose the race, I'll do what he told me to do. But if I win, the table will turn." Pagkukuwento ko sa kaniya. "I accepted the deal because that's the only way that I know... para makauwi ako."

Napatingin ako sa aking paa.

"So you want to go home?" She asked. I nodded.

"Yeah and he said yes, he'll take me home. But he'll do it in one condition." I explained. I sighed. "To go to the palace... with him."

I'm happy that he will take me home soon. But somehow, I resent him for his condition. I just want to go home.

Can someone tell me, is my request that big? Hindi naman ah! Gusto ko lang naman na makauwi, iyon lang.

"It's not that I don't want here, but... I-I can't just stay here forever," I exclaimed. "I-I don't even know w-why he brought me here... It's just that... I can't see any reason why," I added.

Simula una pa lang, wala talaga akong makitang rason kung bakit. Kung bakit niya ako dinala rito. Hindi naman kami close at lalong hindi naman kami magkaibigan para dalhin niya 'ko rito. As if I wanted to come here in the first place.

"I'm sure he has a reason," Lady Letizia said in a soft voice. Napatingin ako sa kaniya dahilan para mapatitig ako sa kaniyang magagandang mga mata.

I don't know if it's just me, but... I felt like her eyes are telling me something. Something that is worth knowing.

"That kid," pagtutukoy niya sa prinsipeng si Zephyr. "I've known him for hundred years." Hindi na ako nagulat, hindi gaya noong una na nagulat pa ako noong sinabi ni Lady Letizia na ginawa niya itong kwintas na suot ko ilang siglo na ang nakalilipas. Well, they do live for centuries.
