"Leftovers."

Lance opened his lunch to find leftover dinner from the previous night.

Every morning, his husband packed him delicious, homemade lunch. His lunch break made him smile, as Edge's cooking was such a comforting thing. His lunch was always accompanied by a small note that would be a variety of things, depending on Edge's mood.

Some days it would be a small motivational note, other times a short poem, or a sexual fantasy he wanted to try that night.

Lance kept all of them in a notebook, because they made him happy. He would read them over and over again, and they never failed to brighten up his day.

Had a tourist hitting on him? Lunch made the irritation go away.

Workplace drama? Lunch calmed him down.

Busy and stressed from crowds? Lunch helped him relax.

He focused on his job during working hours, and only allowed himself to long for Edge during his lunch break when he enjoyed his lover's cooking.

Lunch was such a small, mediocre thing, but Lance's lunch meant a lot to him, as it was his break during the work day to appreciate his loving husband.
