(I didn't abandon the story just yet!!! So, from now on, each Arcana is going to be canon characters and oc characters. the OC characters are characters like Junichi, because I don't wanna repeat story lines that were already told in the game that I feel should be reserved for characters like Hamuko or Minato, and I rather create a story from scratch for those arcana. However, characters like the Magician or Lovers (Junpei and Yukari for example) would be the arcana you have with them because you still have to interact with canon characters)

(also, i'm so sorry for the literal year delay LOL. This chapter should have around 8000+ words give or take and took me about two days to make)

MAY 18TH, 2009.

I groggily rubbed my eyes and tried to shake off the remnants of my unsettling dream. It felt like I had been plunged into a different world, one that was both familiar and foreign all at once. As my senses slowly came back to me, I took stock of my surroundings, relief washing over me when I realized I was in my own dorm room.

"What just happened?" I muttered to myself, confusion still clouding my thoughts.

I slowly made my way over to the mirror, taking in the sight of my disheveled appearance. My hair was a mess, tangled and unruly from my tossing and turning. Despite my haggard appearance, I couldn't help but feel a sense of calm wash over me as I gazed into my own eyes.

But that feeling of serenity was short-lived as I suddenly found myself unable to move. My limbs felt heavy and unresponsive, as if I were being held down by some invisible force. Panic started to rise in my chest as I struggled to free myself from the invisible shackles holding me in place.

And then, just as suddenly as it had started, the sensation faded away. I took a deep breath, grateful to be able to move again. That's when I heard it - the soft, haunting melody of a piano, drifting through the air like a wisp of smoke.

As I rubbed my head, trying to shake off the lingering grogginess, my eyes fell on the mirror. The glass surface was distorted with static, like an old TV set. And on top of it, the letters "XXI" were etched in, positioned right where my forehead would be.

Suddenly, a voice spoke up, a whisper that was barely audible. "Trickster..." My heart skipped a beat as I turned to the source of the sound. Was someone in the room with me? But there was no one there.

"You are a slave, a slave to death," the voice continued ominously. I felt a shiver run down my spine, and goosebumps sprouted on my arms.

"That is the price of being mortal, it is unavoidable. However..." The voice trailed off, and I felt a hand on my back. It was a physical sensation, yet there was no one there. Was I still dreaming?

"Tricksters are those who desire change. Go forth Trickster, fulfill your destiny and save the world. Break the chains that bind you."

"Who are you?" I managed to stammer, my voice barely above a whisper.

A grin spread across the face of my reflection in the mirror, and its eyes turned yellow. "Me?" it said, its voice sly and full of mischief.

I woke up with a start, heart pounding in my chest. I looked around, confused and disoriented, trying to piece together what had just happened. The time on my watch read 5:00 am, and I realized that I had woken up much earlier than usual. Yet, I didn't feel tired at all, despite the fact that we hadn't entered Tartarus for a while.

I stirred from my slumber, feeling a sense of unease gnawing at the back of my mind. Did I forget something important? It felt like a heavy weight on my chest, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

I slipped on my fluffy bunny slippers, the ones I had scored for half off at the mall. The silence of the dorms was eerie, with only the soft padding of my slippers on the wooden floors breaking the stillness. The curfew set by Mitsuru-senpai had long since passed, but it seemed like everyone was still asleep.
