POV: Grian

Doc stirred in his sleep, continuing to mumble a few words in German. I didn't pay too much attention to his words, as I really had no idea what he was saying. I hadn't finished my tea yet, but by now it was probably cold. I wonder what Doc had said. He broke down crying, so it had to be something that he really wanted to tell me. There was a knock at my door, so I got up from my corner, walking down the stairs. I opened the door, trying not to jump at the sight of Iskall, Mumbo and Xisuma. X swiftly moved in, Iskall behind him, and then Mumbo. On the way in, Mumbo rammed into my shoulder, much harder than he should have. I rubbed my shoulder, which was still sore from carrying Doc. The three made their way upstairs, and I followed behind the small group, slowing down when Mumbo shot me a glance. When I finally trudged up the stairs, I found the three staring at Doc as he thrashed in his sleep. Xisuma quickly moved back down the stairs, causing my back to hug the wall. Mumbo was the last down, and he stopped for a moment, studying me before rolling his eyes, heading back down. I released the breath I was holding, and reluctantly joined the three.

"Grian, has Doc been acting strange?"

"Y-yeah, he can't speak english anymore."
"Alright. He just needs rest for now. Healing potions can't heal everything."

I nodded, watching as Xisuma turned to Iskall, whispering something to the Swed. Iskall nodded, quickly rushing out of my base. X turned to Mumbo, who was standing in the shadowy corner.

"Mumbo, I want you to stay with Grian."
"What?"

Mumbo and I looked at each other as the words popped out of our mouths in unison. X explained that I needed a break, saying that I was tired and exhausted. I didn't feel like it. I tuned out the rest of his words, trudging up the stairs and over to my bed, where Doc seemed to be in pain. He mumbled a few more words in German, rubbing the robot side of his face. I quickly walked over, pulling his hand away from his face. He mumbled a few words that I couldn't catch, sitting up in his bed. He looked exhausted, but he just said a few more words in German before smiling at me. I opened my mouth to speak, but Doc wrapped his arms around my waist, lifting me up and onto his lap.

"Du siehst müde aus. Hast du geschlafen?"

I just shrugged, not knowing how to respond to my question. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs, and I turned to see Mumbo on his phone, walking into my bedroom. He took one look at us before groaning, taking a seat in the far corner. He scrolled through his phone, paying no more attention to us.

"You okay, Mumbo?"
"I'm fine, now don't talk to me."

"Du kleine Schlampe, rede nicht so mit Grian."

Doc hugged me in a protective way, slightly hissing at Mumbo. I squirmed a bit, slightly uncomfortable as Mumbo glared at me. It was like daggers stabbing me, his glare icy cold. Did I do something wrong? Mumbo and I were staring at each other for a couple minutes before Mumbo rolled his eyes, going back to his phone. Doc looked back down at me, slightly stroking my hair. I curled up in his arms, pondering why Mumbo was mad at me. Doc turned his body, moving so that Mumbo could only see Doc's back.

"Ärgert dich Mumbo? Ich kann auf ihn aufpassen, wenn du willst."

The only word I caught was Mumbo, causing me to cling onto Doc's lab coat. He continued to stroke my hair, whispering a few words in German to me. Doc picked me up in his arms, trying his hardest to get out of bed. His legs were wobbling as he tried to carry me. I quickly hopped out of his arms, grabbing Doc to prevent his shaking legs from giving up on him. He mumbled a few words in German as I took his hand, helping him walk down the stairs. I looked back at Mumbo, who stood up, rolling his eyes at the two of us. It was best to ignore him. I just looked away, turning back to the creeper.

"You okay, Doc?"

"Es geht mir gut. Meine Beine sind nur müde. Ich mache mir mehr Sorgen um dich. Sie scheinen sauer auf Mumbo zu sein."

I sighed when He mentioned Mumbo's name. It was clear Mumbo hated me, and that he didn't want to be around me.

And I was fine with that.
