Chapter 27: cheer me up

Third Person POV

A dark and rainy night has passed. The sky turned blue, with bright sun appearing in the sky and little white fluffy clouds. A sunlight from the window reached Kai's puffy eyes which made him groan from his sleep. He finally opened his eyes as the alarm clock wakes him up.

Kai sat on the side of the bed, feeling so down. He held his head for a second and massaged his temples. Then, he placed his hand on his chest— it's still here, the pain.

Kai's POV

Mom: Good Morning, Swee— Where are you going this early?!

Kai: I'll just buy something at the store nearby.

Mom: Kai!

I pulled the doorknob and closed the door. I left our house with my head covered with a hood, and my hands inside of the pocket, of my violet hoodie.

I roamed my eyes everywhere. I came to my senses when a car honked at me while crossing the road, and realized I walked for so long unconsciously. This city is so far away from my place!

Anyway, I have to buy something at a convenience store so I looked for one.

A blast of cold air welcomed my body, entering the store. I headed straightaway, after grabbing a basket, towards the ice cream freezer to look for a mint chocolate chip flavor. I grabbed one and went to the snacks area. I almost took all the foods displayed in the grocery shelf.

I was about to fall in a line at the counter when something just distracted my eyes— beers.

Taehyun's POV

I was walking on a sidewalk when a breath of wind blew the eco-bag in my hand away.

Taehyun: Hey—

I followed where the air brings my bag, like an idiot. Luckily, it stopped from flying and dropped on the ground similar to the movement of a falling feather. I shook it in the open air as I pick the bag up to let the dirt go off.

I noticed I'm in the front of the place I'm supposed to be in so I entered the store, but I halted upon hearing my phone rang.

Dad: Taehyun-ah, have you bought anything yet?

Taehyun: Just about to enter the store, Dad. Why?

Dad: Your Mom said include some bananas. She's craving for it suddenly, okay?

Taehyun: Okay. Bye! I'm gonna go buy now.

I grabbed three packs of ice from the freezer. I wouldn't be doing this, but the power outage just interrupted us for several hours since last night so here I am. I went to the counter to pay so I stood myself in a line. I pulled my phone from my pocket and checked my notifications. I also checked my social media because I'm not online since last night, public internet connection is useful after all.
