Chapter 12

I got home and mom was in the kitchen talking to Mbali “you back early” she said turning to me
“Ahlume is a wolf” I blurted it out She kept quiet for a while
“I’ll be in the lounge friend” Mbali said walking out “so you knew this whole time” I asked
Deep down I was boiling that my mother would let me be with a wolf. I needed an explanation for heaven’s sake, they owed me that much
“please sit down so I can explain” she said sitting where Mbali had been sitting. I went to sit opposite her and raised an eyebrow waiting for her to tell me everything. she let out a sigh “Honey I wanted to tell you but it was not my news” I shot her a look “Anelisa I understand you’re angry but I didn’t want to interfere, Ahlume was going to tell you when the time was right” I chuckled in disbelief
“you my mother. You said it yourself that your job is to protect me! How are you supposed to protect me if you cant protect me from my boyfriend who so happens to be a wolf?” I yelled
She shot me a look and I looked down, my respect had flew out of the window at that moment and I hated that because granny didn’t raise me to be disrespectful towards anyone.
“I understand youre angry and hurt but I am still your mother and you will not raise your voice at me” she said sternly gritting her teeth
“I’m sorry” I said
“As I was saying. Even if I told you or I tried coming between you and Ahlume nothing I do was ever going to work because Ahlume was chosen by Fate for you the same way you were chosen by fate for him” she said calmly
I raised an eyebrow “fate?”
“yes fate. What you and Ahlume share was orchestrated from long before you or him were born. You are the doppelganger that was born to tame the wolf nature in him” I shot her a look “look at me all you want but who was I to argue with nature? No amount of magic could ever separate you and him so what would have been the point of me trying? I did everything, I consulted anyone who could change what is prewritten but I didn’t get anywhere” she sighed heavily “Anelisa do you think I wanted my daughter to end up with a wolf? Of cause not but there is nothing I can do to stop you and him from being together and whoever tries to get in between you guys will pay with their life”
I raised an eyebrow confused.
So Ahlume was made for me? Could things get anymore complicated?
“But I’m supposed to give birth to his child and die inorder for that child to be sacrificed to whatever for him to transition mom. is that why I was born? To die for him?” I asked with tears threatening
She looked at me shocked “where did you get that?” I shrugged “Ahlume told me that his grandma said for him to become a hybrid I needed to die while giving birth to his child so that my child could be used as a sacrifice”
She shook her head “No that cannot be possible. Are you sure?” I nodded “ok” with that she walked out of the kitchen leaving me sitting there like a lost puppy.
WOW! what now?
It had been a week since I last saw Ahlume Adams, I won’t lie I missed him. I was miserable but I needed a break from him.
Gran would ask about him and why he was scarce but I would tell her he was busy with test week, well it was test week for him and I was busy with controlled tests for March-April.
I won’t lie everything he told me scared the living daylights out of me, maybe if he had told me later in our relationship I would have understood but for him to tell me after what I went through, it just brought back all the trauma I went through and his anger didn’t make things any better. I knew he was a beast but I didn’t think I’d see that side of him.
Dad and I haven’t been really close ever since the Ahlume incident I walked into. I was going Kendra’s home after school, it was on a Friday and we were studying under the tree
“what happened to your blesser? Did he finally realise that you were too broke for him?”
I looked up and it was some girl from my class. Sihle or something along those lines.
“what do you want Sibu?” Kendra asked annoyed to the core
She once tried to befriend Kendra at some point
“just checking up on the blessee you with. nothing much buddy” she said looking at me
Kendra chuckled “Sibu leave before I make you leave!” She clicked her tongue and walked away swaying her hips left and right.
“you ok?” she asked turning to me I nodded “yeah I’m fine. Thanks”
“mom taught me to stick up for my friends” she said giving me a comforting smile
I chuckled “thank you”
“still not talking to him?” I shook my head “but he told you all of this because it was right. he didn’t want to hide anything from you” she said with a concerned look “he’s dating me so that he can use me. I’m pretty much an asset to whoever has a witch in their pocket” I said annoyed
“at least you don’t have to worry about me using you” she said with a colgate smile We both laughed
“yep I don’t. I love you my friend and thank you” I said returning a smile
The bell rang and we went to write and then when we were done we made our way out of the school and Ahlume was standing outside his car looking all kinds of hot with his muscle hugger T revealing his tattoos and joggers with a white sneaker and shades on pressing his phone. I was walking with Kendra
“well he looks yummy” she whispered “whatever. Let’s just go” I said pulling her arm
We walked past him and he pulled my arm “so you were just going to leave me here just like that?” he said with that voice of his that sends chills down my spine
I rolled my eyes “Ahlume let go of me”
“get inside this car Anelisa before I embarrass you in front of your schoolmates” he commanded
I shot him a look with a raised eyebrow “Ahlume I don’t have time for games”
he chuckled in disbelief “and you think I do. Get inside Anelisa”
I looked at him and I couldn’t read him with his shades on. Part of me wanted to take my chances and see how he planned on embarrassing me but I also didn’t want to be the talk of the school next week Monday.
“you going to get inside or will I have to put you inside this car myself?” he asked
I took a deep breath and then he opened the door for me and I got in, he hailed Kendra over
“you two need to talk alone. My mom’s on her way to fetch me” Kendra said throwing me to the wolves

She offered a smile “take care of her or else I will kill you!”
“point taken! Bye beautiful,” he said to her and then turned to me “say bye to your friend”
He left me with the door open, I got out and hugged Kendra who whispered in my ear telling me to screw his brains out. I had a crazy virgin friend I swear! She closed my door for me and he drove off in full speed, he was driving a white Audi with red leather seats this time around, it had two doors. .
“Ahlume where are you taking me?” I asked with fear creeping in
He didn’t respond, instead he turned the volume up. I turned it down
“Ahlume Adams where are you taking me?” I asked again but reached his voicemail sana. He turned the volume up again
There was really no arguing with him. I kept quiet and looked outside as we drove past different malls and different houses. He drove into Glen Ashley and then drove inside this beautiful yard with a gate that opened automatically. We drove in and he parked in front of the garage before switching the engine off. he got out and came to open my door
“come” he said with his hand held out to me. I slapped it out of my sight, he was crazy right?
“take me home Ahlume” I demanded with my arms folded in front of me
“Anelisa you either get out of this car at freewill or I take you out of it” he said calmly
I just pouted looking in front. He undid my seatbelt with me hitting his back, he pulled me out of the car and carried me like a sack of potatoes putting me on his shoulder and then locked the car with me screaming and shouting that he put me down.
“Ahlume put me down!” I demanded hitting his back. He didn’t say anything until he threw me on top of the bed “what do you want from me? this is kidnapping” I said with hopes to get through to him
I sat up properly and leaned on the headboard
He smiled sarcastically “you got into my car at freewill and your friend was there to witness it”
I folded my arms and pouted. He pulled my leg making me lay flatly on my back.
“Ahlume mahn!” I argued
He chuckled and got on top of me and started kissing me, he didn’t care that I was fighting him, he just kissed me until I lost all fight and gave in to the kiss. His kiss was slow and unrushed and filled with so much passion. It was like he was telling me everything he didn’t tell me these past few days we were apart. “can I get in bed and hold you?” he asked with sincerity. I moved back making room for him. he pulled me to his chest “I’m sorry Sweet Lips. I’ll handle things better next time”
I nodded “I need to go to my mom, I said I would go to her after school”
He kissed my head “I’ll drive you to her at 3 please” “no she knows school is out already” I argued
“I missed you, didn’t you miss me?” he asked brushing my hair back

He cut me off “look, I’ll bring you your blazer so you can text her you got held up somewhere” “this is wrong but ok” I said defeated.
