Gaara x Reader

It was a normal evening and you were finishing up cooking dinner for your family. Just then, you hear the door open and two familiar giggles fill the room.

"Mama! We're home!"

"We're back Mum"

You smiled at the two kids.

"Welcome back Shukaku, Shunran! Dinner is ready but first, wash your hands" You said sternly.

"Hai!" Shunran exclaims while Shukaku simply walks to the bathroom.

Later the two kids come back out and you realized someone is missing.

"Where's Shinki?" You ask.

"Shinki said he's going over to Dad's place" says Shukaku while chewing on the prawn.

"Is Papa not going to be home tonight again?" Shunran ask sadly.

"Shun, Gaara is the Kazekage so he's busy. Please understand" You said.

"I know. I find that we're quite similar to Boruto-kun's family. I mean, his father Naruto-san is the Hokage after all" says Shunran.

"Yes and Naruto and Gaara are both friends from their younger days" You said.

"Mama, can you tell us how you and Papa met again?" Shunran ask.

"Ehh?"

"Again? Mum told us so many times" says Shukaku.

"You mean you don't want to listen anymore?" You ask, with a hint of sadness and Shukaku flinch.

"N-No, I don't mind hearing again" says Shukaku and I chuckled.

"So tell us Mama!" Shunran exclaims.

"Alright but only if we finish dinner first" You said.

* Time Skip *

Dinner ended and Shunran was already excited to be hearing the story of how you and your husband, Gaara had met again.

It wasn't the first time you told them the story. The younger twin, Shunran, in particular enjoys hearing it all the time.

As you start telling how you and Gaara met, memories flow back as you started explaining.

It was years ago when the sole survivor, Uchiha Sasuke was still in Konohagakure. You were from Konoha and is best friends with Team 7 that consists of Haruno Sakura, Uzumaki Naruto and Uchiha Sasuke.

Your Jounin sensei was formerly a student of the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato and his name is Hatake Kakashi.

It was also during the time where the Chunin Exam happened. It happened when you were hanging out with Naruto when Sarutobi Konohamaru came.

Konohamaru is the grandson of the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen. Konohamaru came with his two other friends, Moegi and Udon.

Just then, Konohamaru had bump into a shinobi from Sunagakure and he was Kankuro. Later his older sister, Temari made an appearance as well.

When Kankuro was about to fight you all, the one who stopped him was none other than Gaara, who shared the same fate as Naruto.

"The Chunin exam marks my first encounter with your father" You told them.

"But at that time Suna and Konoha were enemies right?" Shukaku ask.

"That's right but it was because Sunagakure and Otogakure worked with the mastermind, Orochimaru and he also caused the death of Sandaime Hokage" You said.

"Hmm, I'd knew about Papa and Uncle Naruto being both what they call Jinchuriki. But how did Papa become less violent?" Shunran ask.

"It was your mother who saved me from the darkness" A voice suddenly says.

You and the kids turn behind with Shunran exclaiming for her father. You chuckled seeing how excited Shunran is.

"Shunran, you're a big girl already. Don't go clinging onto your Dad like that" You said.

"Mother is right. You're already a Genin. Yet you're so childish" Shinki says bluntly.

"Geez, I'd always knew Shinki was boring. *yawn* I'm tired" Shunran suddenly says.

"Let's to to bed Shun" You said.

"I can do it myself Mama" says Shunran as she goes to her room.

"What about you Shu?" You ask your son.

"Shinki promised to train me when he gets home" says Shukaku.

"I did. Let's go" says Shinki and the two left.

Gaara then sits by the sofa while you serve him some late night desserts.

"I'm surprise you could come home today" You said.

"I finish things earlier than expected. Besides, I wanted to spend time with my family" says Gaara and you blushed.

"W-When did you get so cheesy?" You ask.

"Were you telling that same story again?" Gaara ask.

"Shunran did ask again. But it does bring back memories talking about it" You said.

"It's true that your words brought me back from the darkness" says Gaara.

"It's all in the past now Gaara. Even if history were to repeat, I'd do it again" You said.

"I'm so grateful to have a lovely wife like you and the kids too" says Gaara.

"Do continue your hard work on being the Kazekage, Gaara. We'll always be supporting you" You said.

"Arigatou Y/N. I love you" says Gaara and he caught you off guard.

Even if many years has past, you always got caught off guard whenever Gaara says those three words to you.

"I love you too Gaara" You said.
