The surgery was a success, as far as they were concerned. But the extent of the male's possible paralysis could not be observed until he was awake. Jungkook was put into an induced coma to allow his brain to regenerate, his unconscious form hooked up to all the machinery of the intensive care room.
Taehyung stood over Jungkook, checking all of his vitals and medication, before his curiosity dragged his eyes to the patient's sleeping face.
'Two years younger than me,' Taehyung thought, 'two years younger than me and his life is hanging on by a thread.'
His thoughts made him sad, his eyes drifting over the thick white dressing that was tightly wrapped around Jungkook's head.
The patient had a youthful look to him, and Taehyung could already see the chocolate brown of his eyes even when they were closed. How he wished that his eyes would flutter open and show that he was okay; that he did indeed save his life successfully. But even Taehyung was uncertain of when he would wake up... or if.
The doctor checked the boy's heart rate monitor, before leaving the room.
