Chapter Thirty-Nine

also this chapter is going to be switching POV's so it's a little different than the other chapters

Aoyama POV

It's been somewhat weird in class. Ever since the Sports Festival, Izuku hasn't shined as bright as he used to. Sure, his light was always dimmed, but now it's even darker. Yet him and his mask makes it seem otherwise.

He's been more frustrated and angry lately. He isn't as carefree. In training the other day, he slipped up, causing his partner, moi, to end up getting hurt. It wasn't that bad. Just a sprained ankle that Recovery Girl fixed with no problem, but he seemed really set off about it.

He wasn't mad at Tokoyami since the poor boy didn't mean to hurt me with Dark Shadow, and neither did Dark Shadow, but he was really pissed with himself. I can't put my finger on what it is, but he has been very different.

Nobody knows what he said to Monoma during their match, only Miss Midnight and Cementoss do, unless they told anybody else.

Monoma won't say what he said, just saying how they were trying to provoke each other. Speaking of him, he has been somewhat kinder to 1-A actually. He doesn't try to upset or anger us anymore which seems to piss Bakugo off.

I think anyone in 1-A can tell to some degree that something happened to him.

We just don't know what.

Koda POV (that one quiet kid who's quirk allows him to talk to animals)

I was walking past the teachers lounge, on my way back to the cafeteria, when I accidently over heard the teachers talking about Izuku.

Against my better judgement, I listened in on their conversation.

"So, we can all agree that Izuku is acting different, right?" -Power Loader

"Thank god I'm not the only one." -Midnight

"Yeah, the little listener has been acting strange in my class. He is usually carefree." -Present Mic

"He's been more angry towards me and I'm not totally sure why." -Eraserhead

"What should we do?" -Cementoss

"Did yer say that his father was in the hospital? Maybe that has somethin' to do with it." -Snipe

"Maybe.." -Ectoplasm

"He is still very hostile towards me. Nothing about Young Midoriya seems off to me." - All Ass (All Might)

"Maybe we should ask him." -Midnight

"No. I think it's better if we just stood by. Maybe showed him that we can be trusted by the boy." -Mic

"I agree. If we went snooping around in his personal life, he may shut himself off even more. We need the boy to trust us." -Nezu

All of the teachers ended up agreeing. By then I had already made my way back to the cafeteria. 

I need to tell the class.

Shinso POV

Izuku hasn't been responding to any of our calls, and when we ask, he just brushes it off. Saying how his phone broke. He's been distant. I hate it.

He doesn't talk to me anymore. He doesn't joke around with that stupid grin of his. His eyes don't shine anymore. He doesn't make flirtatious jokes anymore. He is just so broken. He's been more angry at the teachers. According to the test that we took yesterday, his grades are slipping as well. 

I'm really worried.

During PE, Koda comes up to the class while Mr. Aizawa is talking to Izu about something. "What's up Koda?" I ask once he gets the whole class together. He starts signing so I translate.

"He says that the teachers were talking about Izuku." I translated. That perked many's interest while Bakugo just scoffed. "The nerd just started to calm down, so what?" he says while walking off. 

"According to Koda, the teachers said that his mom talked about his dad being in the hospital." I said quietly. "So what do we do?" Momo asks. "Wait Koda says... The teachers are already putting a plan into motion." I said.

"So? You see how Midobro looks at them." Kirishima speaks up. "Yeah. Izu doesn't trust the teachers." Uraraka says. "Iida has been different too.." Todoroki adds. "Maybe we should talk to them later?" Hagakure suggests. Everyone agrees so we continue with the class.
