5 More Minutes

I go outside and see my parents and her parents on the porch.

"My baby, one hour left. Are you nervous", my mom asks me.

"I'm a nervous wrack", I chuckle.

"Don't be. You got it big bro."

"I agree, soon to be brother in law."

"Looking handsome Joe", I turn around and see Selena and Camila.

"Thank you ladies. Where are the other?"

"In the pool house. It smells really awesome in there."

"I know", I say and chuckle.

I go down the porch to check on the band.

"Hey Joe", everyone says.

"Hey guys. How is it going?"

"Good so far", Paul says.

"Almost done", Amos replies.

"Great. I'll get the other and we'll talk about the set list, alright."

A little later.

"Okay so I start of by singing Lover", I say.

"Then Shawn and I sing Love Story while you two dance", Camila says.

"Right and the during 'Marry me Juliet' I kneel down."

Gosh this is such a cliché but I'm sure she'll love it.

"Then you two will continue dancing while I sing perfect", Ed answers.

"Exactly."

"And I sing fireworks afterwards and during the chorus there will actual fireworks", Katy says.

I can hear my dad say
"Sounds like a great plan to me, Son."

I look over to him and his dumbs are up.

5:40 and the photographer isn't here yet.
I'm starting to sweat. Not good.

At 5:48 it knocks on the door.

"I'm so sorry Mr. Alwyn. Traffic is really really bad today."

"No problem. Have you parked your car far enough?"

"Of course."

I'll give her a short idea of what the plan is and then lead her to the pool house like the rest.

"Guys it's time to go in the pool house. Good news: it smells amazing in there."

Everybody laughs.

I get a text from Abigail.

Abigail: We're on our way. 5 minutes

Me: Okay. Could you maybe convience Taylor that she'll need your help with getting ready. Someone need to make sure she's not looking outside.

Abigail: For sure! See you

Joe: Thank you so much. See you

I close my phone and wait. Suddenly I hear the door opening.... Let's go!
