Chapter 34:

Hey guys, so I would just like to say I am so very sorry for taking so long to update. I have been just hammered with schoolwork and other obligations that time just seemed to disappear, and also I have been struggling with writers block. I wish that I could update more frequently, but it's just a struggle. However, I am pleased to say that I should be able to update some of my other stories within the next two weeks if I can get my life together (namely just get motivated to write again) which would be amazing, cuz you guys are so amazing and deserve to have the stories you like updated and not left hanging. So yeah, I am trying.

Anyways, as a little note for this story, you will be glad to know that Percy is finally going to face her feelings that she's buried and been developing ever since I killed off Anthony.

Her 'second chance' for happiness and a good life is starting with the actions she takes in this chapter, because I actually have a heart and can't make myself make Percy suffer through anymore hardships like I have already, so her luck is going to turn around, for the better.

Bart was very nervous, because he was doing something that he'd never imagined himself doing in his life. He was walking up to who was possibly the scariest hero to him at the moment, all to ask him for permission to ask said hero's daughter to be his girlfriend.

Honestly, Aquaman had never seemed so scary to Bart until just then.

However, he had to get his permission first before he asked Percy if she wanted to be his girlfriend. He might've been from the future, but Bartholomew Jay Allen-West was raised to be a gentleman and he wanted to do this right.

So, once he caught Aquaman alone, he decided to confront the man.

"Excuse me, Aquaman, sir. I-I was wondering if I could speak with you for a moment," he said and the king of Atlantis turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course, though I am intrigued by why you wish to speak with me. This is quite unlike you Kid Flash, normally you seek out Flash or Blue Beetle when you wish to speak with someone." He told him and Bart blushed lightly, as he began to rub the back of his neck.

"True, but, this is about something that concerns you." He admitted before he shook his head and straightened up, "actually, it's about Percy." He said, and immediately Aquaman's whole demeanor changed.

Before he had been relaxed and curious, but now he was on edge and defensive. Which made Bart gulp, and shift nervously on his feet.

"What about my daughter?" He asked Bart slowly, and so the young speedster took a deep breath.

"It's nothing bad sir, it's-it's more personal than anything." Bart quickly corrected and instantly he noticed something flash in the kings eyes, "you have developed feelings for her." He said in realization, and Bart nervously nodded his head.

"I-I have sir," he admitted before he took a deep breath and continued. "Ever since I found her in that pod, I've felt drawn towards her. Then as we went on more missions together, I continued to see just how amazing and special Percy really is.

She's so brave and strong, and she's one of the kindest people that I've ever met.

I could never even dream of reaching the level of skill and strength that she has, and I am more than happy with that fact. I also know that I am nothing like her past boyfriend, and I could never replace him. However, I-I love Percy and I wish to ask her if she would be willing to be my girlfriend. But I won't do so without your permission sir, and if you tell me no then I will keep on acting as if nothing has changed."
