I lay on my stomach watching the cherry blossoms fall as I hold my left hand in pain with blood leaving the wound.
Katsune: (They're getting stronger no maybe I'm just getting weaker)
I dip my wounded hand in the water as I feel myself getting a little better.
Katsune: (Things used to be so peaceful here...but maybe I was just being optimistic)
I think back to the times before where people would give small offerings in return for a small amount of good fortune in their lives.
Flashback~
An old man can be seen walking to the shrine using a cane for support as he stops and brings down a Kitsune mask.
Old man: Blessed spirit Katsune, I offer you a special made mask from my deceased wife.
Old Man: Please heed my call so I may make a request of you.
As if on cue Katsune appears in her spirit form looking at the old man as her nine tails wave around.
Katsune: I heard you call, what request do you wish for me to grant?
Old man: My name is Satoshi and I wish for you to grant my children as well as they're own children good fortune for the days ahead as I know my time here is nearly at an end.
Satoshi: Please, Katsune grant me this one wish.
The Fox spirit looks down before approaching him.
Katsune: Satoshi, I'd be glad to honor your request.
She concentrates her aura creating five small jewels before handing it to him.
Katsune: Have your family wear these and they will be forever blessed with your spirit.
Satoshi: T-Thank you Katsune...
Katsune: It's my job as I guide, farewell.
She grabs his offering before disappearing in a flurry of cherry blossoms.
Flashback End~
Katsune: (I used to see many people like him but now all these Humans want is...power)
As night arrives I ready myself for the daily threat I've been dealing with for the past fifty years.
As if on cue three masked individuals holding their blades walk up to my Shrine as I ready myself for them.
