Rachel's P.O.V
"Andrew I'm never EVER letting you drive again!" I shouted.
I hopped out of the R.V. and took a look at the damage. There was a huge dent in the side of it where Andrew had hit the parking meter. 'My dad is going to kill me' I thought. I rubbed my temples as I thought about the many horrible ways I would get in trouble.
I have been 17 years old for 3 hours and 21 seconds and I have already dented our RV. Well technically I didn't dent it, my best friend Andrew did, but I would still take the blame.
I sighed as Andrew came out of the RV with his girlfriend Abby, who is also my best friend. She had long brown hair that came down to the small of her back, and soft brown eyes. She was tall and muscular (for a girl). She was also very feminine looking, even though she had biceps as big as footballs. (Okay, maybe that was an exaggeration)
"I'm really sorry Rayn," he said with a guilty look on his face "that parking meter came out of...well, nowhere"
I smiled at his nickname for me. He picked it out because it was raining on the day we met, hence Rayn. (pronounced rain).
A person couldn't stay mad at Andrew for very long, with his big chocolate colored eyes and his dark curly hair that came down in his eyes. He was tall and thin, but at the same time muscular, which broad shoulders and large biceps. I have known him all my life, in fact, his mother came to my birth, and mine to his. We have been like siblings ever since.
"It's okay Drew," I said cheerfully, not wanting to wreck this rode trip because of a stupid parking meter. "not like it's the end of the world or anything."
"How many miles are we from Long Island?" Asked Abby, speaking for the first time in an hour.
"Um, got no idea, maybe 40?" It came out more like a question than a statement.
We all climbed back into the RV and Abby took the front seat. Andrew slipped into the passenger seat next to Abby so they could hold hands.
I remembered when Abby would try ANYTHING to get that boys attention, and now she doesn't even need to look at him.
I went into the private bedroom so I could think. I laid down on the bed and stared at the ceiling wondering how I'm going to explain this to my dad. He had always thought I was too wreck-less to go on a rode trip on my own, and when I had finally convinced him, I had smashed into a PARKING METER. Oh why does my life have to be a mess.
I got up and looked at myself in the mirror. I cringed, o god I look like a crazy person melded with an emu. My hair was everywhere and I was dressed in sweats and a huge t shirt. I had mismatched socks and I had makeup smeared all over my face. I took a brush to the rats nest I call my hair. As soon as I got every knot out of my light brown hair, I began to straiten it. As soon as I finished, I went into the mini bathroom and washed my face clean of make up, and began to re-alpy. I put concealer and foundation on my pale face and black winged eyeliner around my green eyes. For a finishing touch, I put mascara over my long eyelashes (they have always been a pain). I took one final look at myself in the tiny mirror before going back into the bedroom to change my outfit. I went over to the drawers in the wall and pulled out a pair of Jean shorty shorts (which I absolutely adore) and a form fitting doctor who T-shirt. I checked my self out in the floor length mirror and nodded approvingly.
I left the bedroom and went over to the couch where I had left my shoes. Andrew came to sit next to me as I pulled on my black converse hightops.
"So, I see somebody decided to look human finally." He stated. I punched his arm playfully and said
"Finally? What are you talking about, your a mess!" We both began to laugh uncontrollably.
"WE ARE HERE!" Abby yelled over of our laughter. We immediately stopped laughing and looked out the window.
"Wow," I breathed "this is beautiful" I stared out at the fields with small houses on them. I saw a cow, it was cute!
Just then, I heard a blood curtailing scream. It was Abby. The whole RV swerved to a stop. I looked to see what she screamed about. It was a dracne, wait how did I know that? I have no idea, but at the moment I don't care. The dracne hissed as it slithered onto the roof of the RV. I stumbled over to the kitchen area where I grabbed a steak knife. ( I know, a steak knife. terrible weapon choice, but it's all I have)
"We have got to get out of here!" Andrew yelled. He opened the door and ran out with Abby and I following.
We began to run up a hill, not my choice of direction, but it was the only way. I threw the knife behind me, knowing it wouldn't hit anything but the ground, but I still had to try. I could hear the dracne hissing something about lunch, not very comforting. We reached the top of the hill panting but we couldn't take a break, the dracne was almost upon us. We wildly dashed off into the forest, stumbling over weeds and roots.
Suddenly, I tripped over a rock the size of a base ball. "Rachel!" I heard Abby cry, as I slammed into something. I fell on the ground and groaned. When I opened my eyes, I expected to see dirt and grass, but instead I found myself staring into sparking blue eyes.
