The world around me fractured

The world around me fractured. Crumbled into small, little bits that dug into my skin. The discomfort was what dragged me from my daze.

Separating from Eon was painful, obviously – but this? This was hell on Earth.

I have no idea where I am, who I'm with, how the hell I even managed to get sucked through a magic mirror on the wall... of course, confusion is nothing new to me. In fact, I would even say that I am more familiar with the abstract of confusion than I am anything else.

What a world.

"You seem uncomfortable," No shit.

"Just a tad."

The woman from the mirror was hunched over a brightly burning fire. Bright green eyes, so bright that they seemed to glow, stared at me through the flames. Old me would have said trick of the light. Eon had red eyes that glowed, Cara and Axle had eyes that glowed– it seemed I drew the short end of the stick in terms of magical glowing eyes.

Dead leaves tangled in her mess of hair, it looked like there were twigs too.

How could that possibly be comfortable? She didn't smell bad nor did she look dirty exactly, though she was across the fire from me so all I could see was the highlights of her features and could only smell smoke. Not even the nice smoke I had grown accustomed to smelling around Axle.

Really? Did everything have to remind me of him? Crushes are exhausting.

"You'll be with him soon," At my scrunched face of confusion she rolled her eyes and pushed away from the fire to make her way closer to where I was huddled on the ground.

There was nothing even remotely intimidating about her.

Weird and off-putting? Certainly. Threatening? No.

I wanted Axle. I longed so much that it hurt, and even though she hadn't told me, I knew that he was far away. Far, far away.

I wanted to know who this woman was, how she pulled me through a literal magic mirror into the woods far away from the bedroom I was in two minutes ago.

"Him being Axle, unless.." She trailed off, looking past my shoulder into the misty night surrounding us.

Now that.. that was unsettling. My skin prickled with unease and I took a closer look at the woman. There was something so familiar about her, nothing I could place, but it was there. Right on the tip of my tongue like a word forgotten.

If nothing else, I would at least be with Axle soon if this strange woman could be trusted.

"Unless what?" I pressed, making her attention snap back towards me.

"Not important," I doubted that. "You have something that I need," I frowned.

"I don't, if I do then it isn't with me at least," She sighed and tapped her long pointer finger against my temple.
