Match made in Hell

Ola was back.

Although his presence was enough to dampen the euphoria I was currently basking in, it would not allow it. His presence caused an unrest withing me. It was an inconvenience, like a nasty itch that wouldn't just go away.

I wished he'd crawl back into whichever hellhole he crawled out from. Oladimeji Micheal Badmus had developed the habit of randomly missing school for the slightest reason so no one was surprised to see him pull into the parking lot after missing school for a week in an unfamiliar posh car.

And yeah, mum's car had to go to the mechanic shop for repairs, so I had to walk the long distance to school. I could take the bus, but then I guess I chose solitude over comfort. At least it afforded me time to think.

About Sheilagh.

Those words she said to me almost a week ago never left my mind. I pondered on them. Slept on them. Woke up thinking about them.

A bit excessive you might say, but you have no idea how those words made me feel everytime I remembered them. It was pure bliss.

I stayed clear from the lonely route since the incident with Ola, so It took longer to get to school.

As I walked into school, I spotted Ola's posh Pontiac parked in the reserved parking space with his name crested with white bold letters on the signpost which said:

RESERVED:
OLADIMEJI BADMUS

The only other persons that had a reserved parking space was Principal Peterson and Chief Seyi Badmus. That should let you know the calibre of person Ola's father was.

I felt a pinch of jealousy as my sweaty, tired self passed by Ola's luxurious ride which was still ignited.

As I walked past, the car suddenly revved causing me to jump in fear. I gritted my teeth in anger as realization hit me that he had probably caught me staring and thought it fun to startle me.

Snickers surrounded me as students who saw what happened laughed, some muttering ‘Hasn't he seen a pontiac before?’
Faded music boomed from the car as I doubled my steps into school.

Traitorous tears escaped from my eyes as I remembered the intensity of fear that wrapped itself around me when Ola's deathly eyes met mine.

Before anyone could see, I wiped them off.

Would I ever get over this trauma?

School had been somewhat bearable for the past week Ola had been absent. Now that he was back, there was no telling what truckload of trouble he arrived with this time.

As we lined up in single files for the assembly, all heads turned as Adesuwa and Ola walked in.

Permit me to say, but they were a match made in hell. Both were psychopaths and I wondered if that was what attracted them to each other.

Adesuwa was not immune, as her father was not some multibillionaire somewhere. Although her relationship with Ola gave her an edge, there was a limit to her misbehaviour. If not, the school would probably have been shaken from it's foundation and crumbled with time.

It was always hell when the two of them where present and somehow, the temperature in the room got warmer.

Hushed whispers filled the air as students watched them swagger into the hall like they owned the place.

Although technically, Ola's father owned 50% of the school.

Adesuwa was a brown-skinned lithe, almost sticky girl with legs as long as an egret's which she flaunted like an accessory by having her skirt cut almost mid-thigh.
