27- Stood Up

You were sitting at a booth in the little cafe where you were supposed to meet your date but it had been over an hour and he wasn't here. You knew you shouldn't have agreed to this blind date but you were desperate.

"Miss, are you ready to order?" Asked the nasally voice of the waitress. She had been asking this question ever since you got here and you gave her the same answer, "Not yet."

She was pretty annoyed with you at this point.

"Hey there," said a voice as soon as the waitress walked away.

You turned your head and saw a man with brown curls and mesmerizing chocolate brown eyes and a beautiful smile.

"Hi, can I help you?" you asked.

"I couldn't help but notice that you've been here for the past hour. Is everything okay?" He asked in a soft voice.

That was when you broke down telling him that you were a terrible relationship before and you finally had the guts to break it off and after months of sulking you were on a blind date but you had been stood up.

He quickly came over to your side and gave you a hug, "Oh honey, it's okay. Let it all out."

"I'm sorry, I'm such a mess." You told him after wiping your eyes.

"It's okay, it's okay. You have nothing to be sorry for." He said with a smile.

"Thank you."

He sat across from you, "I'm Shawn, by the way."

"Y/N."

"That's a really beautiful name," he said causing your face to feel hot.

"Thank you, yours is really nice too."

"So-"

"Are you ready to order?" Asked the waitress, again. You rolled your eyes.

"Yeah, sure. What do you have?"

She gave us the menu before walking away.

"So what are you getting?" He asked as his eyes skimmed the menu.

"I kinda want the waffle attack."

"Yeah, me too."

You both ordered your breakfast/ lunch and started making small talk. it was really easy to talk to him and he was always making you smile.

"Can I get your number?" he asked as you both walked out of the cafe.

You nodded, handing him your phone. He put his number in.

"I'll call you." he said with a wave and you smiled.

"I'll be waiting."

You walked back home with a bounce in your step and a giant grin on your face.
