There was quite a lot of noise coming from the main hall near the stairs, and you had been in the barn, working on a batch of Retro-Mutagen. You knew the other turtles were home, but you just kept finding yourself drifting deep into your own thoughts.

How would you work it out? How would you stay in New York with the turtles? Would there even be an opportunity for you to? But most importantly, would you all even survive long enough to worry about something like this?

You wanted to believe that things would work out, but there was always a big part of you that just thought things might not go well for you, specifically. You weren't like the rest of your friends. You were a side character compared to them.

You didn't know how to fight like the turtles. You couldn't even fake it like Casey. You were smart, but not like Donatello. You were quick, but not like April. You were fast on skates, but here in the countryside, your best trait was probably knowing how not to burn the kitchen down when it was your day to cook dinner.

"You brought Bigfoot home!?" It was Leonardo's distinct voice that brought you out of your trance. But it was his strange words that make you rush from your slowed pace walking to the farmhouse.

"What happened!?" You asked, bursting through the front door.

"We brought Bigfoot home!" Mikey cheered with a broad smile, only for you to peek into the living room to see Donatello and April taking care of a literal Sasquatch.

Your jaw dropped and your eyes were wide. Everyone seemed like it wasn't such a big deal, and soon enough, the rest of the boys hurried you into the room to watch the encounter. You weren't really paying attention to it, because you were a little occupied with trying to comprehend that Bigfoot was sitting on your living room couch.

"Donnie very good mans! So good. Bigfoot love Donnie! Bigfoot am lady." Bigfoot said hugging Donatello closely.

"That's... great..?" Donatello didn't know how to reply, and for some reason his eyes landed on you for help. You only shook your head with wide eyes. You had no ideas on how to help the poor guy. You couldn't even handle your own crush problems, how were you supposed to help him turn down Bigfoot?!

"That is great!" Casey commented, causing all the other boys to burst out laughing hysterically. Of course, if you weren't so shell shocked right now, you might have been laughing too, but you felt more pity for Donatello than you did amusement about the situation.

It was going to be a long, long process as Bigfoot healed.

There was a long list of incidents that cause frustration to rise in the house because of Bigfoot's addition. Although it was mainly Raph, so that was normal, but there were some things that even you couldn't understand or stand. So you kept your distance. You didn't become too friendly unless necessary, and you kept conversations to a minimum. This was how you dealt with people who were similar to Bigfoot back home and it worked pretty well. Now was no exception.

For the time being though, you were mostly holed up in the lab. You had told Donatello to get a break a few days before the whole Bigfoot thing started, and you intended to keep your word, saying you would handle the Retro-Mutagen and the making of Leonardo's medicine - this time it wouldn't make him throw up and create another swamp creature.

But there was always one place you would find Bigfoot - the kitchen. This time it was for a different reason. You hauled the fridge back into the house with the help of Mikey and Raph. Apparently Bigfoot threw it out the window, which seemed impossible considering the the window was completely intact as well.

Donatello was busy for whatever reason, and you took it upon yourself to fix it in his stead. Of course you weren't much of a tech wizard like Donatello, but he taught you a few things along with how to make Retro-Mutagen.

But your work was interrupted by Bigfoot asking both April and you to help with a makeover. You're first and only response was - "How do you even know the word makeover?"

And then that was another battle entirely.

April moved you and Bigfoot to the bathroom and she urged you to help with the process. To be honest, this was probably one of the more awkward situations. You couldn't even handle your own boy problems - how were you supposed to help with hers?

"Okay, and a little off the top here. Well? Uh, so what do you think?" April looked between you and Bigfoot. You said nothing, only placed your hand on your mouth, giving a light hum and nodding.

Bigfoot gave a smile to the mirror and left the bathroom, apparently to make Donatello something to eat. You could only let out a long breath. "I'm sorry April, I'm not very good with these types of situations." You muttered.

"It's alright, (Y/N)." She said as the two of you exited and went your separate ways.

You'd made your way to the barn, where you heard Casey and Leonardo speaking. Walking in, both of them greeted you and you sat down with your head in your hands, thinking about the Retro-Mutagen, only for their conversation to become so loud that you could hardly think.

"So she's wearing makeup now, and she keeps making soup for Donnie." Leonardo began.

"Do you think she's his type?" Casey chipped in, chuckling.

"Maybe after a shave!" They both burst out laughing, and soon enough you heard Bigfoot leave the barn doorway with sobs.

"Seriously?!" You yelled at both of them as you ran off to find her.

They followed suit, Mikey scolding them as well. "What is wrong with you guys!?"

"We didn't mean to hurt her feelings!" Casey defended as Donatello and Mikey went to chase after her in the woods.

"I expected this kind of behavior from Casey." You began your lecture as the two of them turned to you. "But you, Leonardo. I'm just disappointed with both of you." You shook your head, heading back to the house.

It was actually the day after Bigfoot had left (and apparently fell in love with the man that was hunting her) that you had received sincere apologies from Casey and Leonardo about their words, to which you scolded them for that as well. That, and you'd seen a little change in the relationship of April and Donatello. You were rooting for them.

"Hey April."

"What's up Donnie?"

"I, um... Well, I just wanted to let you know I won't be bothering you with music boxes anymore. I get it now. Donnie is to April as Bigfoot was to Donnie. I'm just... A mutant."

"You're not just a mutant, Donnie. You're my mutant." She then proceeded to give him a light kiss, and you cheered to yourself as they made a new step forward.

"I understand... nothing."
