It's a Wolf Thing

Chapter 24

As I turned around to tell Klaus where I was going I hear "So were are you headed,love."
I smiled, "Well apparently Bonnie has figured out why I turned into a wolf, earlier so, I have be summoned to the Salvatore's to talk about it. Want to come with?"
Alaric sighed when I asked Klaus to come with me and he gave me a look when Klaus said, "Yes, let's hurry this up we're already late."
Alaric looked at me and said, "Late for what?"
Klaus answered with, "Late for New Orleans, we have planned to half way there by now."
Alaric once again gave me the stern dad look, "Let's just get going."

When I walked in everyone was still there just like when I left. It was like they were frozen in time there. I had Roman in my hoodie pocket and he sticked his little head out as I walked into the house. I assume because of the smell of vampires was distinctive to wolves and other vampires. I had grown nose blind to it but, he hadn't.
"So what caused me to turn?"
Caroline said, "Alex sit down."
I furrowed my brows, "Um, why?"
Damon then said, "Alex just sit, please."
I laughed,"Must be real serious if Damon felt the need to say please. Just say it I still have to go home and get my things together."
Bonnie sighed and said, "Well i won't know for sure, until," she grabbed my left arm and turned it over pulled my sleeve up looked at it and pulled the sleeve back down.
I then said, "What are you doing?"
She then done the same thing to my right arm and I looked with her and saw what she saw.
What looked like a  singular tally mark that was a light grey. Right under the bend of my elbow.
Her face went pale and she gave a look of pitty. I shock my head, "What does that mean Bon?"
She said, "It mean you do have it."
Klaus said exactly what I was think, "She has what exactly?"
Bonnie swallowed, "XIIILupa, it's a wolf curse, that's a result of an unfinished ritual."
Klaus said, "Never heard of this, how can we be sure it's real?"
Stefan said, "Why would we lie about something that can harm Alex?"
"It can do what to me? How does this curse harm me exactly?"
Bonnie said, "We don't know exactly how but according to what we've found it can cause you to be stuck as a wolf."
I was shocked, "What? You said this caused by an unfinished ritual. I've never been part of a ritual."
Damon said, "Not that you know of."
Klaus said, "What do you mean? Did you try to use her in a ritual?"
He was taken back, "No, I didn't. Maybe it was you seeing as how you love coming here and using wolves for your rituals."
Klaus was getting angrier, "Why would I use her in a ritual?"
Damon stood up walking closer to him, "Why do you do anything? Power, and to have people do you're biding. Maybe you wanted to make it to where she didn't leave you, maybe,"
I got between them, "And maybe it was none of us." I pulled Klaus back away from Damon before saying, "So how do we fix this Bon?"
She gave me a sad look, "Well there isn't a way to fix it at least not that won't end with you dead."
Confused I said, "What do you mean?"
Alaric said, "Alex it means that either you control it or try to get rid of it and die."
These words kind of scared me, I could either be stuck as a wolf or I could die.
I was kinda messed up by these words and confused on how I got this curse. I walked over to the table which had the bourbon on it and poured a glass, which I then proceeded to down. Then poured another one, this time I drank like a normal person before saying, "So my options are to die trying to get rid of the curse of try to control it. Even though I don't know how I did it the first time. Is there a certain amount of times it can happen or what?"
Bonnie said, "Well going by the face it had 12 in the title I'm going to say when you hit it 13 you're stuck."
I nodded taking another sip from my glass, "Alright then I'm guess I'm just going to try to find out how to control it."
I took another big gulp before saying, "Well that's all the crazy I can take for today I'm going home."
I put my glass down and started to the walk towards the door before I realized Klaus was still giving Damon the death stare, I turned back grabbing his arm pulling him slightly. Trying to get him to take the hint that I wanted to leave, after another pull he started to move with me. Putting his hand on my waist moving with me. Though when he did this I felt as if there eyes were burning throughout me as we walked out.

When I got home it was close to midnight and I wanted to just go to sleep. He walked me in and my mom was sitting in the kitchen going through case files I assumed.
She looked up and smiled at me and flared at Klaus before I said, "I'll see you tomorrow, alright?"
He nodded, "Be ready tomorrow, goodnight love." He leaned down and kissed me before walking out the door.
"There you are sweetie, I figured you would just spend the night at the Salvatore's."
"Why would I stay there?"
"I just figured you would that's where you're sister is staying and it's not like you have stayed there before."
"Yeah well guess I just wanted to come home." When I said that Roman poked his head out of my pocket and whined.
That's when I realize he probably hadn't ate in a while. I walked towards the cabinet grabbing a small bowl to fill with water. As it filled I pulled him out of my pocket and sat him down on the floor. I placed the bowl in front of him. He drank the water as I walked over the fridge my mom said, "What are you doing?"
I sighed, "Looking for something to feed Roman."
She got up and walked to the pantry and pulled out a small bag of dog food, "Here sweetie, I thought you might need it for him."
I smiled, "Thank you mom."
I poured him some of the food in another bowl for him, which he smelled and then started to take very small bites of the food.
I sat at the table beside my mom think of how to tell her that tomorrow I would be leaving for New Orleans.
As I was thinking she said, "Alex what are you think about?"
I snapped out of my thoughts and said, "Well I think I'm leaving tomorrow."
She was shocked, "What!?"
"Remember a couple months ago I was going to leave but we settled on after graduation well it's after graduation and I was supposed to leave today but, I kinda got distracted, so no I'm leaving tomorrow."
She shock her head no, "You don't have to leave you know. It's your decision, if he's threatening or forcing you, you"
"Mom he's not forcing me, I just, he's leaving tomorrow and wants me to go with him and I think I want to go. I'm scared to leave you, Caroline, and my friends but, at the same time I want to go with him. What do think I should do?"
She sighed, "I personally want you to stay but, I know that you're going to go. I will say if he does anything I will kill him, and you can always come back."
I smiled, "Thank you mom. I will come back for visits and holiday yknow."
She placed her hand on mine and said, "I know you will sweetheart."
By that point Roman had finished his bowl of food and was jumping at my legs wanting to be held. I picked him up and said, "Well mom I'm going to bed, night."
"Night sweetie, I love you."
I smiled, "I love you too."
With that when to my room and started to change into my pjs and I felt a gust of wind. I pulled my shirt back down before saying, "It's late and rude to break in."
I turned around to see Klaus, "Sorry love, but do continue. Don't stop on my account."
I glared at him, "Shut up. What are you doing here anyways?"
He smiled and said, "Why don't we leave now? Be on our way, get there by the evening."
"I can't, I still have to pack and say goodbye to everyone."
" Alright, I just thought you might want too. I guess I'll see you in the morning then love." He kissed me before vanishing.
I changed into my pjs and laid in bed thinking about how life would be in New Orleans. Wondering if it would be good or bad? Better or worse?
