It was you all along.
You,
who smiled before him,
who showed him what euphoria truly was.
Who held out their hand to him,
heart open,
a beautiful glint shimmering in your eyes.
You brightened up his life,
changed him in ways he had never expected.

But alas, it couldn't happen.
Simeon couldn't allow it to escalate any further than he already has:
he's meant to be a holy being,
an angelic one who guides others,
so innocent and pure.
He had already broken so many of his own morals and values,
almost turning a blind eye to his religion.
But when he did so,
in those small few seconds of sin when his lips were against yours,
he truly thought that the fall would be worth it for you.

Turning my back on religion might be worth it,
The angel thought,
eyes locked onto yours as soon as you both retracted from your small peck.

Simeon found himself in deep thought some nights,
his fingers threading through his thick, dark locks,
almost pulling at them in desperation.
He found himself questioning his entire being,
wondering just how his saviour may react to his sinning,
his Bible sat next to him in the bed,
waiting to be opened.

Waiting to be used to pray off the sin he had done and thought that day,
Simeon knew god would forgive him though.
It's not like he had committed anything big -
but sin was sin.
And Simeon was lucky to be forgiven for loving you anyways,
on the condition that once the program was over,
he was to never even look at you.
Not even spare a glance.
Reluctantly,
he had to agree.
He couldn't allow himself to just...
fall,
could he?

His entire life,
he had been taught to do no wrong
- to stay innocent and out of danger -
to be a lighthouse for those in need.
A safe place.
But then,
in turn,
who would be his safe place?

He unfortunately found his safe place in you,
if only you were an angel,
which he had always swore you were.

The angel found himself faltering from his strict religious morals,
finding himself asking the brothers more and more about their fall.
It was obvious to everyone he asked why he was asking:
they didn't blame him.
Yet they were cautious about what they said and how they said it,
not wanting to push him over the edge and to his doom.

On one hand,
Simeon knew it was a dangerous process,
but on the other,
it was all for a potential life with you.

Potential.

There was no guarantee what would happen if he fell,
allowed himself to fall from grace,
and so he stayed up more countless hours doing his own research,
ignoring his head pounding,
trying to tell him to sleep.
