Chapter 5

I quickly sped to Denver, barley managing to arrive on time. I ran into the bathroom, fixed my hair and make-up, and changing into our amazing blue uniforms. While leaving the bathroom I bumped into one of the cheerleaders who glared at me and strutted off. Having no time to comment I simply rolled my eyes and jogged o the main gym where the pep rally was being held.

My almost late arrival earned many glares and nags from my team, but they quickly forgave me and we were ready to rock and roll. The girls' basket ball team was doing some crazy speed drills as we were warming up. The point of this pep rally was to show the strength of a team and just have a fun break from school.

About the same time we were done warming up our name was called. We lined up on both sides of the stage and waited for our music. As the music came on I nodded at Bree, who stood opposite of me and we ran towards the stages edge. We flipped on the stage and then to the middle where we went to the back and began to go to our positions. We did our whole routine to pump it by the black eyed peas. As the last note played we all landed our last flips and struck awesome poses.

The crowd went crazy and cheered while we exited the stage. However, our applause was nothing compared to the boys football team. Kacey jumped up and down while rambling on and on about how amazing that was. We all laughed at her and changed into normal clothes. As the team dispersed Bree and Kacey decided we should go to subway.

After we ate our delicious subs I waved goodbye to them and started my incredibly long drive home. When I finally arrived home mom was sitting in the living room waiting.

"How was the pep rally honey?" she asked

"Fine. we did good."

She nodded "I miss taking you to those things, when is your next event?"

"Next week." I replied and yawned.

"Well you must be exhausted, how about we talk tomorrow, and we can go shopping!" She exclaimed excitedly.

I nodded and trudged up to my room, deciding to do my homework during free period tomorrow. I changed into my pjs and dove into bed. Tomorrow I was supposed to have dance practice but with Derrick trying to figure me out I would have to cancel. I dreaded the thought, but decided it was the only logical thing to do. Resolving to call Janin in the morning I drifted off to sleep.
