04-You Care

I sat on a couch in the waiting room with Kiara, she was laid her head on my lap and tried to get some rest. I hope she can sleep.

We waited hours, restlessly. I knew I had to figure out what happened, I don't know why but when I saw him hit the ground something in my chest twisted and I didn't like it. Finally the doctor appeared and I woke up Kiara. We walked over to the doctor as she rubbed her eyes.

"Good evening, he suffered severe bleeding, his operation was successful and we believe his going to make a full recovery. His strong I'll give him that. You can go see him now if you'd like." Said the doctor

Kiara looked at me and I answered for her.

"Yes please." I said and the doctor lead, Kiara and I to a room.

Room 203

As we entered the room I took Kiara's hand and have it a supportive squeeze just to reassure her that she's not alone. We walked in and Kodiak was sitting up drinking water. Wow guess the man really wanna strong.

"Kiara, thank goodness you're okay." Said Kodiak

"Are you insane!? You got shot and you were worried about me. She made sure I was locked in a safe room when she heard the shots." Said Kiara

"Thank you." He said in a grateful tone.

"My pleasure, when can you be discharged?" I asked as I approached the bed.

"Lincoln said I should be okay to leave by tomorrow. Will I be able to go with you guys to the Blue Eyes Resort and Recovery?" Asked Kodiak

"You May but you need to follow and listen to my exact orders because this place is unknown for a reason. People hide there for a reason." I said

"Got it. You won't be blindfolding us will you?" Asked Kiara

"Actually yeah we have too. It's just for your own protection and the other residence. We need to make sure the location stays hidden. Especially because we don't know who spies could be." I said

They both nodded. Kodiak and I made eye contact and I felt my heartbeat rise. What is wrong with me. I calmed myself down and decided I should probably give them some privacy.

"I'll give you two some privacy. Kiara I'm going to the food court, is there anything you want?" I asked

"Actually I can go, I'm sure you and my brother have some work things to discuss." She said as she smirked in his direction. What is she playing at.

Before either of us could argue she ran out of the room.

"Cohen, go with Kiara to the food court and don't leave her side please." I said into my earpiece

"So what's your sister playing at?" I asked as I stood next to the bed.

"Not sure, maybe she's talking about the tension in this room or the way you keep drooling." He said with a cocky tone.

"Oh please, more like you gawking when you saw me walk in, or the way you tense when I touch you(I placed my hand on his thigh and his body betrayed him. He reacted just as I suspected)." I started laughing and he rolled his eyes.

"So you have an effect on me but I know I have the same effect on you." He said

"Just accept defeat Mr. Sanchez." I said with a smirk

He patted the side of the bed next to him and I was confused but sat done. I'm intrigued. He moved closer and pulled out his phone. He typed keep talking. So I nodded and did as he asked.

I just started bringing up pointless things that we would banter about and he typed a message on his phone. He handed me the phone and started talking while I read the message.
