.****** TEN MINUTES AGO***********...
Lucas leaned on the wall of the pack house with his legs crossed, as he watched the battle ongoing right in front of him. It didn't come as a surprise when none of the warriors of the pack tried to attack him, seems his reputation does precede me. 'Cowards.' That's what they all are. Every once in a while, he'd pick on a fight with a random wolf on the battle field, but he'll always be done with them in seconds. They were the worst trained warriors he'd ever encountered and he was bored out of his mind.
The door to the pack house opened. Lucas turned around swiftly to get a view of who it was, as soon as his eyes landed on the man at the doorways, Lucas let out a low growl and the man reciprocated with a loud growl. Lucas scoffed.
Even though he was trying hard to not look scared with his little barking tactics, fear was written all over his face and his loud growl revealed a shaken voice. Who would have thought the mighty, one handed Alpha Rodriguez could be afraid of anything.
Lucas ambled towards him slowly, with his eyes taking in his figure. Everything about this man was loathsome. His mind flickered to Camilla, even though he didn't want to think about her anymore, but his heart was against him. He folded his arms across his chest as he pulled himself away from the thoughts of Camilla. All of a sudden, Rodriguez took off running towards the woods beside the pack house, swinging his one good arm as the other amputated arm dangled uselessly beside his body.
Out of the corner of Lucas eyes, he saw Carter's attempt to give chase to Rodriguez, but Lucas wanted to do it alone. There was no way any other person gets to kill Rodriguez but him, so he mind linked Carter instantly.
"I've got this. Wrap this battle up." Lucas said.
Carter's eyes met Lucas and he gave him an understanding nod, he returned a nod and darted towards the wood in pursuit of Rodriguez. Even with the little head start he had, his distorted figure was still visible in the dark, as he struggled to maneuver through the thick bushes, trees and protruded branches in the woods. Lucas taunted him by running in a slow pace and teasing him with annoying words loud enough for him to hear, but he didn't slow down. He kept his pace and even increased it at times, Lucas knew that was not a challenge for Rodriguez, considering he is an Alpha, but he should know better than try to outrun him.
Lucas had thought he had the situation under control until a bright light shone brightly through the dark forest, the trees and plants were forced to bend as a strong wave of air current swept the entire forest. Lucas confidence and assuredness melted inside him as Rodriguez jumped into an helicopter a few inches above the ground. Lucas shot at the helicopter in an unnatural speed, but he was too late, the helicopter was now a few feet above the ground.
"Until we meet again, Luc. See ya around, Pussy!" Rodriguez shouted down, panting heavily as he waved at Lucas, then he let out a loud laugh of mockery. Every single bone in Lucas body stiffened, veins were bulging in his head as he looked at the helicopter disappear into the dark night sky, leaving a red tail light as the only pointer of it's realness.
Lucas let his anger dissipate inside of him with the assurance that Rodriguez will be back, there's no way in hell he wouldn't come back to attempt taking back his Pack. But the next time he sees him, he made a promise to himself not to hesitate even a second to get his revenge.
He had thought their plan was foolproof, but it wasn't, and he didn't even bother checking the insides of the pack house. He felt foolish, knowing that all those minutes he spent relaxing at the front of the pack house, Rodriguez was inside planning his escape. He kicked a tree hard as his anger and frustration ate him from the inside out.
