The drive to the hospital was silent and quick. Carter wasn't angry anymore judging by the look on his face, but he didn't utter a word either and Lucas heart was too heavy to start up a conversation. He hoped Camilla had no hand in the attack, but deep down he also hoped she wasn't kidnapped. A lab forensic was waiting for them in front of the hospital with Jaden. They stepped out of the car and walked toward them, not bothering to park the car properly.
"Welcome Alpha, Beta." Jaden bowed. "This is Nathan. He is a forensic scientist, he was employed a few months back at the lab." Jaden said. Lucas nodded his hand and walked into the hospital, he had no time for formalities, he just wanted to know what happened.
They all walked up the stairs to the first floor, then towards the room Camilla was admitted last night, stopping at the door for Nathan to go in first. The door was hanging on one of it's hinges, which looked like forced entry. Nathan stepped in gently, his skinny figure walking slowly and randomly through the room. He went over to the bed, checking the floor and the mattresses, then he glanced through the room, examining the walls with a blue light from a torch in his hand, then he went over to the window and stared down. He motioned for us to come in and they walked in steadily and slowly with Carter and Jaden behind Lucas
"Judging by the position of the window shield and the destroyed blinds, it's obvious they were destroyed from inside. There is also no signs of struggle in the room, everything is clean and nothing is out of position except the window of course. Jaden told me they had to break the door open this morning when she wouldn't open it so it means she didn't take the door either and no one came through the door." Nathan said.
"So what are you trying to say Nathan?" Lucas asked.
"There's no doubt that the patient did all this herself and without doubt, she escaped through the window and judging by the door she locked from behind. The escape was planned, she knew what she was doing." He replied.
Lucas turned to face Carter, then he nodded his head and walked out the room. Hr didn't need to hear more of it, he had enough information. All this time, she and her father had been the ones behind the rouges attacks. It wasn't a mystery as to why Pack Forte never complained about a rouge attack and then last night, they'd attacked this pack and left the other one. The attack was probably all a distraction to come get her and she left a lasting reminder of how dangerous she is.
The only good thing was his surety over the fact that Carter wouldn't question his decisions anymore, seeing how painfully right he was this time. His head was buzzing with where she could have headed, maybe her sister would know, but remembering his last encounter with her, he doubt she had any idea what her vicious sister was up to. Why the fuck would the goddess be so cruel to his family. She had paired his dad with someone who ruined his life and caused his death, and now, she has paired him with a malevolent one, a terrorist, who was disturbing the peace of the world.
The hard throbbing of his head worsened when he accidentally glanced at a big ward room, the beds were lined beside each other in the big, long room and never had he seen such large number of people hospitalised in this pack. He grappled a nurse's arm before she could walk past him. She raised her head in terror.
"Alpha?" She said lowly, with frightened eyes.
"I'm sorry, but the admitted patients in this room are too much. Why's that?" He asked releasing her arm. He felt stupid for asking the question, like he needed to be told.
"The attack yesterday, there were about one and twenty six injured." She replied. Lucas nodded his head slowly and continued his walk out of the hospital, with a hard pulsing head, a heavy heart and his head hung low.
