From the embarrassment El quickly disconnects the call and texts me a series of messages telling me she's not going to talk to me. Looking up from the kitchen counter l could see the boys talking to Kayla and they seemed happy if you ask me. These days l tend to stare and get lost in thought when l see an adorable moment happening infront of me. This is all l wanted to feel part of a family with other people and l got it with El ,Grayson and now it's with Chris, Lucas, Jose as well as Dylan.
There's nothing else l would ask for after what l went through with my parents and now on my way to my pediatrician degree we will see who had a loss me or them.
"Kira." Lucas calls
"Wassup."
"So you actually are real and here." Jose adds in.
"Am l missing something." I ask very confused
"They wouldn't believe that you here so they came to see it for themselves." Chris explains
"Better believe it l am here. Soul and body." I answer for him
I disappeared into the bedroom so that l start to apply for a job that's in alignment with my degree it's high time l let go of Mrs Jackson's in as much as it hurts. Didn't even see Chris get in cause l was so engrossed in my applications that his kiss on the cheek acknowledged his presence which made me jump cause l was caught off guard.
"You looked too serious." He laughs
"I forgot time moved this fast." I laugh back.
"Kayla is napping. With Lucas being her donkey and car they pretty much were bonding."
"I feel sorry for him." I laugh
"Don't he signed up for it."
He pulls my legs so that he's hovering me and our faces are face to face ,he leans down to give a toe curling kiss that left me in confusion trying to find words.
"Had missed you."
"Eish I can't say the same." I cringe to try look mean over hat l said.
"You sure cause your forehead is written in block red letters I MISSED YOU VEERY MUCH. " He tried to mimic a sexy feminine high pitched voice.
"I don't even sound like that." I hit his chest
"You didn't deny what l said."
"Cause it's true." I say
Our position was pretty much comfortable if l just say, he wasn't squashing me at all. He pulls my hand to the kitchen so that l grab a plate he served food in so that l eat. I excuse myself to check on Kayla and she was so deep in sleep even from her posture. Like l always do l kiss her good night and whisper
"I love you monkey."
Carefully closing the door l went back downstairs to Chris who sat there watching The Cube ,l loved the show and l didn't think he would enjoy it as well. He so believes he can beat the cube but how many people go there with that intention but leave when they have £20 000.
He couldn't even do the balance one for 5 seconds
"Just quit it. You definitely won't be the person to beat the cube." I pull him down to sit.
After finishing that episode, we played COD, thanks to El and Grayson for teaching me and wrapped the evening with a nice calm movie that had us falling asleep in each other arms on the floor.
I love summer break cause you don't even have any worries of waking up early and having to worry about school. Woke up earlier than the two and cleaned the house as quietly as l could and took a shower before the thought of my apartment came to my mind. It's high time l go back to my apartment l need clothes and l think l overstayed my time.
In Chris' baggy t shirt that covered the short l wore beneath. I started to prepare breakfast ,in the midst of it l felt a pair of hands l knew well wrap around me from behind.
"I could wake up to this view any day." He whispers and his husky morning voice had me damned in less than five seconds.
Switching the stove not anting to cause any casualties later on l turn to face him .
"Morning." I smile sheepishly
"Good morning." He smirks before he lips me to the counter to give me one hell of a good morning kiss. I can definitely wake up to this as well. So lost in the kiss that l didn't want to end, he pulls away from me before hiding himself in the fridge.
"Morning people." Kayla's happy voice made its self known.
He's so careful and so help me God if l don't get married to him l don't think any other guy would replace him. Damn it
"Good morning to you sleepy head." I find my voice.
I look at Chris and scan his body before l came across his tent which had me smirking. He stands next to me and covers himself with the island and greet Kayla
"Morning princess."
"Good morning to the king." She plays along.
"And where's the Queen. It's only right for a king to rule with a Queen." Chris furrows his brow to ask Kayla.
"She knows herself so there's no need in trying to say it again. Right Chris." Kayla says as she uses her strategy to sit on the stool that was way higher than her which l find dangerous.
I taught her to make sure the back rest is leaning on the counter and she climbs from the front that way she's less prone to a serious accident.
"And you are a clever one princess."
He strategically walks out of the kitchen giving Kayla a forehead kiss. Kayla was engrossed in her cereal, when l looked up to Chris on the stairs he mouthed
"This is your fault."
I pout before l deliberately made sure a spoon falls where there's a free space and he has a direct view of my whole body. Slowly l got down to pick it making sure not to break the eye contact we were locked in.
He turned away and walked away awkwardly and l stifle a laugh, it took him about forty five minutes before he came down to join us for breakfast.
In the midst of the meal
"Chris l think it's high time l go back to my abandoned apartment."
"Do you really have to."
"I have to. Why ask."
"Cause l wanted you and Kayla to stay with me. I was meaning to ask you before you came up with ' I have to go back to my apartment'." He says now seriously looking at me as he had left his food waiting for my answer .
