Trigger warning for SA

Jade wasn't one who usually drank at parties because she was one of those people who could barely tolerate alcohol. Every drop of alcohol that entered her travelled through her like a wildfire. Beck on the other hand could have ten beers and not feel a thing so they were quite the mix when it came to partying

The only reason she had decided to go to this north ridge party with him was because Andre wanted to go for the north ridge girls and he insisted beck came too because with beck there the girls practically flocked. Jade wasn't at all happy about this set up but with  beck wanting to be a good friend, he suggested she simply came along too to "fight off the competition".

"What are you wearing tonight?" Jade asked the night of the party while at school

"Not sure, probably just what I'm wearing now" he shrugged, taking a bite of his pizza.

She hummed eyeing him up and down before giving him a look "change your flannel before tonight" she decided finally

"What why? I like this one"

"Exactly, you look the best in this one so put on your red and black one" she suggested

"Hey you said I look good in my red and black one!" Beck said quite offended once he picked up on her drift

"Well sometimes I lie" she shrugged nonchalantly taking a bite out of his pizza

She was trying to lessen the chances of him getting picked up by a north ridge girl tonight and she hoped the flannel would be enough

That night at 8pm beck pulled up outside of jades house in his truck and honked twice to let her know he was there. Within a minute she came out of her house dressed in a short, tight red dress he had never seen before

"Oh good you switched your flannel" jade commented once she was in the car

"Jade what are you wearing?" Beck asked completely ignoring her comment

"A dress"

"Why"

"What you don't think I look hot?" Jade asked dropping her tone and turning to face him

"Yeah I do! That's the problem" he retorted "you made me change so I don't look good, so why are you wearing that"

"So girls know you're taken by someone hotter than them" she shrugged "I don't see what your problem is"

""My problem is that we're going to a high school party full of strangers" he pointed out

"Ugh I know how to handle myself beck, don't worry. Just drive already" she huffed

Without saying a word beck finally turned on his ignition and started driving to the house the party was at

"Just promise me you'll be careful?" Beck finally said as they pulled up to the house after a silent half hour drive

Even though she was mad at him before she chose not to be now "promise"

"Here" beck said handing her a cup of beer he found at the drinks table, where he also found Andre trying to pick up a girl

"Beck you know I don't drink" she said while pushing it away

"Oh come on jade it's just beer not even strong alcohol"
"Fine. But I'm not drinking all of it " she said, finally giving in and taking a sip. It tasted like really cheap bad beer but it was ten times worse to jade who'd had very little alcohol experience in her life

"Ok I've gotta go help Andre" beck said to her when he saw him frantically beckoning him back to the drink table

"You're ditching me?" She huffed "what am I supposed to do here?" Andre had already made it very clear he didn't want jade standing with him and beck because she scared off all the girls
