Random habits

Everyone has random habits including beck and jade. Some good, some bad and some just plain random

Becks good habit was playing with jades hand and drawing on her arm or thigh with his finger. Just simple things like If they couldn't talk to each other in class he'd play with her fingers or massage her hand and run his fingers up and down her arm  or when they were at lunch with the rest of the gang under the table beck would draw a heart or write something like "I love you" on her thigh and it was just his way of showing her he was thinking about her and jade likes when he did it because it made her feel closer to him

His completely random habit was fiddling with her rings on her fingers if he was playing with her fingers or the bracelets on her wrist if he was drawing on her arm. There was always a new ring in each finger or a new charm on her bracelet so he loved randomly discovering them and trying to figure out what they meant, because with jade everything has a meaning and usually she would explain the whole story to him but sometimes he really just has to try to figure it out and was usually pretty wrong

Beck really only had one bad habit that he did whenever he got anxious or flustered or just a little bit stressed. When he got anxious he would run his hands through his hair but not very gently, instead he would pull on the ends slightly and sometimes pull it out. Jade hated when he did it because it always ruined his perfect hair and she knew that if he did it he was anxious so if they weren't with every one else and they were alone then she'd carefully take his hands away from his hair and she's run her fingers through instead, because it was the same feeling but she was just a lot more gentle but if they were with everyone else then she'd remove his hand from his hair and just hold it for a while to stop him

Jade only had one random habit which was playing with the edges of his flannels in class or when they were together in the RV or if he was wearing suspenders then his suspenders. She's just crumple the fabric a bit or run it through her hands cause she claimed: she likes the way it feels

She had a lot of bad habits she'd picked up over the years but her worst was definitely biting and chewing on her nails. She'd started biting them in third grade but it got worse and worse over the years and it was her go to when she panicked or got stressed. Beck always tried to help her stop by taking her hands out of her mouth or reminding her to stop but it never worked so one day while they were sitting in his RV he suggested something new

"You're biting your nails" he reminded her, looking up from his laptop

"I know I can't help it, I'm just nervous for the audition tomorrow"

"I've got an idea that could help you stop" he announced after a minute of thought

"What?"

Beck quickly got up and left without saying a word so jade was very confused as to where on earth he had gone

He jumped into his car and drove off to the drugstore and got back within 20 minutes

"Where did you go?!"

"I went to go get this:" he said, producing a bottle of black nail polish from behind his back "this could help you stop"

"I'm not painting my nails" she stated firmly

"Then I'll just have to do it myself" he shrugged before walking over to her and grabbing her hand

"Do you even know how to paint nails?" She questioned while he unscrewed the bottle and started to paint her thumb

"No but I'll learn for you" he grinned at her before continuing "because I love you very much"

25 long minutes later jade has all her nails and a quarter of each finger covered in the black polish

"See?" He started after he finally finished "they look pretty good right?"

"They look terrible"

The nail polish did help her stop biting her nails but she did it herself from then on

I didn't update last night and I'm very sorry. Just a trigger warning for the next chapter it's gonna be self harm so you e been warned
