After he left I had mixed feelings.
For the first time since I laid my eyes on the roads of Florida, I had the feeling I actually had a chance of getting the thing I wanted.
Still, I was well aware of the risk I was taking-
Trusting a total stranger could go wrong and that's why I had to make myself some rules. Of course, I wouldn't tell him the whole story. Just telling him this one name could get me into some trouble. Good thing there was nothing less to lose for me.
Tatumn luckily didn't notice anything that went down outside and Kendrick called back a few hours later and was more than happy to listen to my made-up stories of how much I missed this city.
Hazel still talked more than I could listen and the rest oft he weekend went down like butter on a croissant.
I told you, I'd always get my way. And I finally got rid of all the signs on the road that told me it's the wrong one.
On Monday I walked through the Hallways as I own them. The last time I've been here I had no real plan at all. But good things take time. The people still looked at me, and I appreciated their attention with every viral of my being.
I already noticed Blake when he entered the room. And he must've noticed me too because when we made eye contact he accelerates his walk towards my direction.
Soon he arrived at my side. Not slowing down, he inconspicuous nodded at me and I did the same. Without stopping he pressed a note into my hand and proceeded walking.
Without turning around I walked a few meters before unfolding the note with the poorly written letters on it.
„parking spot after school."
I folded the note again and put it in the pocket of my jacket.
And I could swear time's never passed slower when I was sitting in my English class, my last period on this day. Since Tatumn would literally chop my head off if I skip school again this early, I had to wait.
Totally blending my teacher out, I couldn't wait for this class to end. I bit on my pen while constantly watching the clock on the wall till it finally rang.
„Finally.", I sigh, stood up, grabbed my bag, and left the room first, not even sure if the teacher even finished his sentence.
Totally done with the world, I wanted to walk around the corner to finally leave this hellhole when I bumped into a grey-haired girl who was clearly waiting for someone. And since Hazel looked at me like I was her kid, I'm pretty sure that someone was me.
„Hazel! Holy shit you scared the hell out of me.", I said and cringed back, touching my heart.
„I'm sorry.", She giggled, as happy as always. Her hair was up to a half bun and her brown leather jacket loosely covered her shoulders, but this didn't change anything to the fact that her whole cleavage was showing off overneat her blacktop.
„What do you want?", I asked with a calm smile, even tho I wasn't calm. On the contrary, I wanted her to vanish as fast as she got here.
„I was waiting for you. I have time today I thought I could take you home since- you know," She playfully pumped into my side. „We live in the same house." She laughed and I friendly tagged along. Well, shit.
„Yeah, that's nice but I'm fine, thanks.", I smiled. Lifting her eyebrow, she dyspeptically looked at me.
„Are you sure? I mean, we basically live in the same house, why don't we ride together?"
I nodded. „Hazel, this is really nice of you. But I need to buy some stuff for school today.
I just got told we have a project day in geography class on Tuesday and I don't even have a folder yet, so I'll buy one and I thought I could also discover the city again by doing so." I gave her an apologetic smile and she nodded while putting the pieces together.
„Oh, of course, I totally understand that I didn't want to push you or something." She said and put up her hands.
„Yeah, I know.", I smiled and impatiently looked down the hallway.
„Well then.", I said and wanted to go but she held me back. „Oh and summer, please be careful."
I gave her a questionable look and she knowingly rolled her eyes. „I didn't say anything because it's none of my business and I didn't know how to start but... you know what happened on the party with Blake..." She uncomfortably shifted from one leg to another and I put the pieces together. Right.
I was so caught up in my plans that I totally forgot about Hazel's side oft he story. I knew she wouldn't let the hook up lie go and I Instantly regretted not lying about something less phenomenal.
After Blake left, Hazel didn't dare to ask me about him that night and we left soon after the whole situation because Tatumn wanted us to be home by midnight.
„You don't have to worry about that.", I noted and gave her a serious look which caused her to nod. „Yeah, I thought so. Just...be careful, okay?" I wasn't exactly sure what her look tried to tell me, but I guess it was a mixture of fear and excitement.
„What if he has to be careful?", I asked, slightly offended.
Hazel giggled and rolled her eyes playfully.
„Well, whatever, I'll see you tonight, I guess?", She asked and I nodded. „Yeah, tell Tatumn I'll be back for dinner." She agreed and waved at me for the last time.
„Good luck with your project!"
I smiled. „Thanks."
Hazel gave me one last warming smile and then left down the hallway again. As soon as she went around the corner my friendly smile turned back into a stressed facial expression.
Trying not to run into Antony or any other person that could try to talk to me, I practically ran down the hallway.
Blake instantly caught my eye, leaning against his car when I finally arrived at the parking spots. He obviously stood there for a while now, listening to music with his earphones in.
„I'm here." I said but he didn't notice me, starring in the opposite direction.
„Hellooo?" I waved my hand in front of his face, but still, no expression.
„You got to be kidding me." I rolled my eyes and pulled out one of his headphones. He finally realized my presence and looked at me. I smiled politely.
Just play your role.
„You said you wanted to meet me here.", I said and he nodded.
„We're going somewhere.", he said and walked towards the driver door.
„Oh, alright."
Sightly confused I made my way to the passenger door and got in.
„Mind telling me where?", I asked and got into his car. The fact that I went with him without hesitation seemed to surprise him.
„Something like a cafe. If you want this to work, we need to talk."
I nodded. „Right, sounds logical to me."
We put our seatbelts on and he started the engine. The parking lot was almost empty since my lesson was one of the latest ones. Only a few stressed-out People were walking around, trying to find their car.
We slowly drove down the parking lots in a direction I didn't know.
What do you think will happen next?
Any wishes ?
