I almost forgot to post! Yikes...anyway this is the last chapter before the season finale ),: Enjoy!
~Faults VS Virtues~
Rafael led us outside to wait, insisting Felix get some fresh air. I followed, of course, keeping my distance from Felix. Tobi slowed to meet my pace. "Sorry that Felix yelled, you know how he is."
Nodding, I combed a shaky hand through my hair. While Rafael posted up by the stairwell to the front door, the three of us, absolutely wiped, dropped down on the steps. Expecting me to sit next to him, Felix seemed surprised when I instead sat on the other side of Tobi. The air was awkward and tense. I'm wasn't being stubborn, Felix was Tobi sighed, dropping his head into his hands. "You two are the most stubborn people I know." He stood up, pointing over to a quiet place behind the motel. "Go."
"What?!" Felix exclaimed, looking up at Tobi.
I joined in the protests, not wanting to be alone with Felix at the moment. "I'm not the one who-"
"Go!" Tobi raised his voice. So the two of us sulked our way behind the dirty motel.
"It smells back here," I mumbled, my eyes drifting over to the dumpsters.
"Yeah..." Felix agreed. When did it get so awkward between us? Maybe we really were too stubborn to make up. I bit my lip, leaning against the wall. My clothes were already sweaty and ripped, so whatever. Felix followed my lead, falling against the building in silence. A huge gust of wind blew my shirt up from my stomach. Instinctively, I rubbed my arms, sucking in a shaky breath.
Felix shifted, pulling off his jacket, and stepped in front of me to block the wind. "I-I'm sorry."
I worked my bottom lip between my teeth, giving a rather lackluster response. "It's okay..."
Felix pressed his fist against the wall behind me, his arm right next to my cheek. "It's not." He whispered. "I'm so dumb, I suck at everything I do, and I can't protect the people I love."
"You protect me all the time," I responded, looking anywhere but his eyes. I couldn't stand to see the bitterness in them.
Felix tilted his head down towards me, his brows furrowing. "That winter I..." He trailed off. Felix shook his head, his lip quivering as he tried to keep it together. He stood up, stepping away from me, and held out his jacket.
I took it gratefully, sticking my arms into the long sleeves. It smelled like him. Felix turned to round the motel as I pressed his sleeve against my nose, taking a deep breath. Tell him (Y/N). Tell him. "Felix!"
He turned. "What?" Felix's voice wavered, his usual confidence missing.
"I forgive you." I blubbered, trying to convey my hectic thoughts. "You're not the same person you used to be. You're stubborn and a huge scaredy-cat, but you're also ridiculously strong. You fight for what's right and put your life on the line for your friends." My mind couldn't catch up with my feelings.
Felix looked taken aback, his face turning a shade redder than I'd ever seen. "I'm not that different..." I sniffed and wiped the angry tears out of my eyes. Today had been crazy but it felt nice to get that off my chest. I let out a muffled sob into Felix's jacket sleeve.
My vision blurry with tears, I looked up to see Felix's warm smile, his arms spread open for a hug. Letting out a small giggle, my shoes slapped against the concrete as I dove into his arms. Everything I said to him was true. He's stubborn and a scaredy-cat, yet I don't deserve him. He's strong when the rest of us aren't and that means the world to me. The fact that he'd been desperately trying to prove himself to me and David for the past two years...
