My dad is going to the minor leagues today. I'm staying here. The Banks' and Mrs. Conway are gonna help look after me. We get to the bus stop. Everyone is making smart comments. When my Dad gets to me, everyone just smiles sadly as we hug. "I'm not angry anymore Dad, " I whisper as he pulls me in tighter. "Don't get into any trouble!" He says seriously. "Have you met me. I'm a Bombay, trouble is my middle name, old man. Also if one of them hurts you I'm gonna kick their asses, but for the love of God don't break a hip!" I say sassy. "I won't. Keep my boys in line." "I will. You better come back home in one piece." "I will I'm a Bombay." "You bet your ass you are, " I say laughing as I hug him one last time. He gets on the bus. I watch him leave.  I feel arms wrap around my waist from behind. I already know it's Adam. I lean back into him. "He's gonna be okay. So are you, " he says propping his head on my shoulder. "I know, but I'm still gonna miss him so much. He's not gonna come back for a while, " I say sadly. Adam just spins me around and hugs me. We all go to Mickey's. Hoodie by Hey Violet comes on. I start to sing and dance. Everyone is laughing at me. I'm gonna miss this. We all go to our pond to play a game. It was me, Adam, Charlie, Fulton, and Averman against Jesse, Connie, Guy, Peter, and Karp. My team won. Adam, Connie, Guy, Averman, Goldberg, Fulton, Charlie, Jesse, and I all go over to my house. We order food and just hang out until around 5:00. Everyone had to go home except for Adam. We hung out for a while. He went home, and got some clothes. He came back. "Way can I use your shower?" he asks batting his eyelashes. "Yeah, " I say as I show him where everything is. He gets a shower. "Way what did you mean earlier when you said that he wouldn't come back for a while?" He asks as we lay in my bed. I was wearing his shirt over some shorts. He was just wearing his boxers. I had my head laid on his chest. "I just don't think that he will come home to visit me unless he has to, " I explain while looking at the ceiling. "Well you've got the guys, and me. You don't have to have him, " Adam says as he starts playing with my hair. "Thanks, Adam. You're my best friend. I love you. Goodnight, " I say snuggling into his chest. "Love you too. Goodnight Babygirl, " he coos softly. For the first time in a while, I was actually able to get a good night's sleep.
