Twenty

December 17th 1997

That had single handily became the best day in Alexandria Lily Potters life.

That was the day she was blessed with the job of being a mother to her beautiful daughter

Eleanor Ophelia Malfoy-Potter

Eleanor meant light, or as bright as the sun in Greek

And after one look at her, it was obvious to everyone she was shining brighter then anything, making everyone's life brighter and better by the second

No one can ever prepare you for what happens when you have a kid. When you see that child in your arms, and you know that it's your job now. To protect it and love it with everything you've got. No one can prepare you for the love and the fear.

But as Alex looked around the room, at the people she called family taking turns at carrying Eleanor, she also realized

No one could have ever prepared her for the overwhelming feeling of joy she felt when she saw the people she loves, loving her child just as much as she does.

The feeling of happiness, because you know your baby will always be safe, because she has an army to protect her

People who would die for her.

People who love her and who would never abandon her.

After everyone had some time with Eleanor, they left the two new parents alone in the medical wing

"She's beautiful" Draco said as he looked over the girls shoulder to his daughter

Alex smiled, "the most beautiful person I've ever seen. We did good" the girl said as she looked up at her boyfriend

"Well you did most of it, I only took part for like twenty minutes" the blonde joked

Alex laughed, causing Eleanor to almost slightly smirk

"She smiled!" Alex half shouted, beaming up at draco

He smiled as well, "those are called reflex smiles, they start doing go before their even born. I read about it" the blonde said proudly.

Alex simply smiled proudly at him.

two of the three most important people in her life was right there in the room with her.

She was happy, not the kind of happy that usually lasted the girl a couple of hours.

This happy was different, she felt more full, more complete.

"You outshine the morning sun my love" Alex said quietly as she raised Eleanors head slightly to give her a kiss

The girl moved over slightly, so the blonde could have space to lay dow next to her

"She's awfully quite for a baby don't you think?" Draco said as he pulled alex closer to him, her back being to his chest as she carried the baby

Alex shrugged, "I'm sure she'll start crying soon"

As the two continued to stare at the newest addition to their family, they hadn't even noticed that Dumbledore, along with Snape had walked in

"Malfoy, would you mind giving us some time with Alex and the baby" Dumbledore asked, well more like instructed the blonde

He looked down at Alex cautiously

"It's okay, go eat or something" she said before kissing the boys cheek and sending him off

Snape room a seat to the left of the girl, looking at the baby curiously.

"What's her name?" He asked quietly

Alex smiled, "Eleanor Ophelia Malfoy-Potter"

"Eleanor" the professor whispered back quietly

Dumbledore stood over the girl, looking down at the baby with a smile, "I see she's got your eyes and dracos hair"

Alex nodded, "she's beautiful isn't she?" She asked while looking in between the two older men

Both of which just nodded in agreement

"Was there something you needed to tell me?" She asked after a moment of silence

"Oh yes! The malfoys have sent this for you" Dumbledore said as he handed the girl a letter before saying goodbye and walking out

Snape and the girl sat in silence

"Your mother would've loved her, I'm sure of it" Snape said quietly before standing up.

Alex smiled at the older man, "thank you Professor"

With one last nod he walked out, leaving the girl alone with her daughter

She decided she should open the letter before Eleanor woke up

Dear Alexandria Potter,

We've received news of the birth of your child. Narcissa Malfoy will be visiting you any time next week, we are very pleased to welcome a new addition to the family.

Sincerely, the malfoy residence

Alex turned the paper around, she thought it'd say something more important, why did they only want Alex to see it.

She assumed Lucius had written a threat or something.

She pulled out her wand from her robe that sat on the chair next to her, "Aparecium" she casted quietly

Just as she expected, someone had written in invisible ink

"Did you know Alexandria means defender of mankind? What a shame you won't be able to save your child"

The girl looked down at her sleeping daughter, eyes full of tears

"I'll die before I let them touch you" she said to the baby, even tho she knew Eleanor was to young to understand anything.

After taking one last glance at the baby, she threw the letter up into the air and casted yet another spell, "Incendio"

Mid air, the paper lit into flames, becoming ashes just seconds before it hit the floor.

"May I come in?" A voice said from behind the curtain poppy had set up for the girl

She recognized the voice as Harry's, she smiled before allowing the boy inside

"Can I carry her?" He asked as he reached the girls side

She nodded her head and carefully passed the baby to him

"Is something wrong?" He asked as he looked down at his sister

She didn't feel like talking, she had to think of a way to protect Eleanor.

So she sent a fake smile her brothers way and shook her head

He either seemed to believe her, or simply just wanted to spend time with his niece, either way Alex was happy he left it at that

Harry then In formed her that Draco had gone to eat and take a shower. He also told her that nurse poppy said she could be out of the medical wing by tomorrow

Which she was great full for, all the memories Alex could think of that happened in the medical wing where bad ones, except for the birth of her daughter of course.

But she smiled slightly, remembering all the times her and Harry had managed to end up there with a broken bone or a head injury.

But no matter how they got hurt, they always got hurt together, so maybe the old memories weren't so bad after all

But Right from the beginning it was always Alex and Harry

Which made her very happy, Harry was an amazing brother, she just couldn't wait to see what an amazing uncle he'd be.
