She didn't know where she got the idea, but it seemed smart at the time and now it was to late for her to back down

On her third day at the hospital she wrote a letter to Kingsley Shacklebolt, the new leader of the Order

She had read about him and decided, if he answered she'll leave, but if he didn't, she'd stay.

But the day of Eleanors funeral she got it. The letter that would changed her life.

He said he'd be honored to have a witch of her abilities join the order, he said he'd help her. He didn't seem to mind she was barley 17 and running away from Hogwarts

So that's when she left.

She had used a spell to make her hair lighter, so instead of the black it usually was, it was now a hazel, and she cut it. So now it was just a little above her shoulder instead of going all the way down to her back

She remembered Hermione telling her about some colored contacts muggles had, so before she went to meet Kingsley, she picked up a pair of plain brown ones.

As she looked in the mirror, she didn't recognize herself, sure there where things she couldn't change that would always associate her with Harry, like how both their noses pointed down at the tip, or how their chins where slightly squared.

But other then that she didn't look like Alex Potter.

Once Alex had arrived at the location Kingsley Had sent her, she went in

It was an old building, the windows looked like they would fall off at any moment

But despite Alex's worries she went in, B2 that's the apartment number, and when she arrived it was unlocked so she stepped in

"Hello?" She called out in a fragile voice

She heard movement in one of the rooms so she opened the door to reveal two tall figures

Kingsley Shacklebolt and Remus Lupin.

"Alex Potter? Pleasure to meet you" shacklebolt said as he offered the girl his hand, which she gladly took

"The pleasures all mine Mr.Shacklebolt" the girl replied with a forceful smile, it's not that she didn't want to smile at the man. It's simply that she couldn't

The older man then informed the girl that he had something for her, so he left to retrieve it, leaving Remus and Alex alone

No one said anything at first, they just stood in awkward silence

"He's going to send you over seas, did you know that?" Remus said in a tone that suggested he was trying to talk her out of it.

The girl shook her head, "I didn't know that. But maybe it's for the better"

"You're willing to leave everything behind?"

The girls head shot up, "I have nothing left Remus! Eleanors dead! There's nothing for me here."

The older man pulled the girl into a hug, she would've started crying right then and there

But she couldn't. She didn't feel anything, she felt hallow

"Does Harry know you're leaving?" The man asked once they pulled apart

Alex shook her head, "no and I don't want him to okay?"

Remus nodded his head and Kingsley Came back in while holding an owl

He introduced her as Kora, he said he was gifting her to Alex so she could contact them

After he explained what was going to happen, Alex was going to move to New York and stay with an elderly couple he knew

She was just supposed to watch out for anything out of the ordinary

It didn't seem that hard so Alex agreed

So with one last goodbye she entered the fireplace with her bag over her shoulder and koras cage in her hand.

Remus handed her the floo powder and she was instructed to say "Brooklyn New York"

So she did and within seconds she was in a different fireplace standing in front of an elderly women

"You must be Alex correct?" She said in an American accent.

She felt a bit embarrassed to talk, she was scared they'd make fun of her accent

So the girl simply nodded

The older women then introduced herself as Jo, she had a husband, Chris but he was currently out working

So Jo led the girl to a room and let her get settled in, the room was nice.

A large window and a twin sized bed, the walls were made out of brick, the girl liked it tho

She set kora down and opened the cage so she could get used to the surroundings.

And in all the quite, her mind wondered back to home

She wondered if Harry was worried, maybe he was Relieved he didn't have to deal with her baggage anymore

She wondered if draco was happy, if he had already gotten over the fact that she left and went to tell his parents

Lucius must be very content.

Then she thought about the short letters she wrote, and about how they didn't do the situation any justice. They where the simple "I'm leaving it's not your fault, goodbye" letters.

But Alex had so much more to say, so she took out two pieces of paper and a quill. She mentally kicked herself because she forgot ink, so the girl walked over to Jo and asked her if she had anything to write with.

The older women handed her a pen, it had been a while since Alex had wrote with one, last time was when her aunt made her do her horrible cousins homework.

Pushing the thought out of her head she began to write:

Dear harry,

I'm aware my previous note was quite horrible and didn't truly describe the situation, so I'm writing another. I had to leave Harry, being there, around everything that reminded me of Eleanor would kill me. Seeing the people who loved her all so dearly would absolutely destroy me. I haven't been feeling like my self lately, which is okay. I'd wake up everyday and not want to get out of bed, and when I did I'd just sit and do nothing, I'd waste my time. Do you remember when we we stayed awake for a week straight trying to figure out a way to get Voldemort out of our heads. Do you remember asking me when I'd rest. And I said I wouldn't until I knew you were safe. But I'm tired, I need to rest. So I'm doing everything I can from where I am to make sure what happened to Eleanor doesn't happen to anyone else.

But then I came to a realization that I have to grow as a person and that's something I need to do on my own. I've always had you to rely on, you've always been there to help, with my pregnancy, when Eli was born. You've always made things better. You are the best brother ever Harry. But I'm afraid you can't help me this time. I'm afraid this is a long scary journey I must go on alone. I don't know when I'll see you again, or if I ever will. But you need to know that I love you, forever and always.

Love, Alex H.
