Flirting with the enemy (A Jeverus story)

Severus waited patiently in the courtyard, James was 10 minutes late! Everyone else had already gone down to Hogsmeade. After about another five minutes, James walked into the courtyard, Lily behind him.
"Your late." Severus stated, before looking at James, who seemed very nervous.
"H-hey Sev!" James shouted.
"Hey James... Is everything alright?" Severus asked him, placing his hand on his shoulder.
"Well I-I"
"Give them to him." Lily whispered in James's ear.
"Give what to who?" Severus asked.
James pulled out a bouquet of lilies, Severus's favorite flowers, handing them to Snape, "I got these for you..."
Severus looked up at James, who looked away, blush on his face, he grabbed the flowers smelling them, smiling at James, "They're beautiful James."
"Alright I'll leave you two alone, I must go find Rose, and give her the Daisies I got her!" Lily skipped off down the path.
"Anyways are you ready to go?" James asked, taking Severus's hand.
"Definatly."

"So where us it you want to go first?" James asked.
"Well before that there is something important I need to ask yo-"
"How about Honey Dukes?" James said, tugging Severus towards the sweet shop.
Severus sighed, "Sure..."

"Hey James!" Saud Arthur Weasley, "Whatcha doin here?"
James let go of Severus's hand, "Nothing.. Just browsing."
"Well then what are you doing with Snape?"
"I'm his-" Snape began.
"He's my Friend." James said quickly.
Severus's heart felt like it was crushed, once again. "y-yeah friend..."
"Well we should be heading off we wanna be able to see the rest of Hogsmeade before sundown!" James chirped, grabbing Severus by the shoulder, and leading him out.
James led him into a nearby alley way, shoving him up against a wall, a few of the flower petals falling off of his lillies. James leaned I'm, kissing Severus gently.
"Sorry Sev... Knowing Arthur he would've made a scene about me liking you." James whispered.
"It's quiet alright, but uhm- while I have you alone can we please talk?-" Sev started before James tugged him out of the Alley way.

It was around five o'clock when they decided they wanted to have a butter beer at The three broomsticks. They sat at a table in the back, hoping not to be disturbed.
"I really like how today is going Sev." James said, intertwining his hand with Severus's.
"R-Really?" Severus asked, blush on his face.
"Yes, it has been wonderful.."
Severus placed his flowers on the table, "it's only been wonderful because your here with me James..."
"Heh, you really are adorable~" James said, petting Severus on the head.
"Listen, Now can we please talk?" Severus asked.
"Of course-"
"Look it's James Potter!" James turned his head seeing a bunch of girls heading towards him.
James once again let go of Severus's hand, "Why Hello their ladies~"
"OMG We say you at practice the other day, and you could not look cuter!" A blonde girl in Ravenclaw squealed.
Severus let out a growl, he was becoming Jealous, and Angry that their "Date" kept getting interuppted.
"Well I'm glad pretty girls like you are their to keep me motivated~" James said in a flirtatious manner.
"James..."
"Not now sev." James muttered, quickly turning his attention back to the group of girls.
"Is their Anyway I could get a date with you?" A brunette asked, inching closer to James.
"Depends if I'm free~" James tease, leaning in towards the girl as a joke before pulling back.
"Well what would Lily think?" Molly asked, "Isn't she the one you've been after?"
Severus looked up at James, a look of worry in his eyes for what he was to say.
"Y'know, I don't stick to certain girl for too long, I could still be after Lily, or I could be into another chick~"
"Aww that's too bad, cause I would've been everything you needed~" the same Blondie flirted.
Severus finally had enough, he reached out James's hand, grabbing it before James tossed his hand away, "Not now Sev."
"James please..." Severus begged.
"Hold on Sev, give me a moment."
"Hey you should come and hang out with us James~" The brunette asked.
"I'm down, but as long as he can come too." James said, pointing to Sev.
"Uck! Alright just don't flirt with us you weirdo." The Blondie gaged.
James awkwardly laughed, "Haha, yeah..."

"James it's cold out here, you should so give me your jacket~" The brunette asked.
"Hey! I'm cold too, you should give me your Jacket instead."
James awkwardly smiled before noticing Severus came without a Jacket again.
"Here Sev." James said offering him his Jacket, "You look cold."
Severus blushed, "T-Thanks James."
"What gives!" The Blondie shouted.
"Yeah what the hell!?" The brunette cried, "We're so much better than him." (Girl you better shut you dumb mouth.)
"Well you see ladies~ I was trying to impress both of y'all~" James teased, making both girls blush.
Severus let out another growl, he started to puck off the petals of his flowers one by one.
"That's so generous of you to give him your Jacket James~"
"Yeah what a Gentleman~"
" Yeah what a 'Gentleman' " Severus mocked, "Didn't think that at first."
Severus looked up at the right time to see both girls lean in to kiss James's cheek, and what was worse is that James didn't even bother moving. Severus had had enough.

"Bye James! See you in the match against Slytherin tomorrow!"
James waved them goodbye, before seeing a small cart that sold Jewlery. He decided he was going to get him and Severus matching bracelets. When he got up their he found the perfect ones, a small red and gold bracelet with a small heart shaped  locket that said Slytherin on it and he found a Grey and Green one with the same locket that said Gryffindor, and right next to them was the prettiest ring ever. It was an engagement ring, with a beautiful diamond on top, and the design of the ring was a snake. Severus would love that... James thought to himself, before purchasing the brackets.
"Hey Can you save something for me?" James asked.
"Of course." Said the clerk,  "Now what is it you will be saving?"
James pointed to the ring, "That."
"The ring of the serpent. Have someone special in mind?"
"You could say that.." James smiled to himself.
"Well then you outta treat 'em right. The ring of the Serpent is special."
"How so?"
"Well because it brings two unlikely souls together. Have you ever heard the tale of the Serpent and the girl?" The clerk asked.
"No, but it sounds interesting, id love to hear it!" James chirped, completely forgetting about Severus, who threw his flowers on the ground and left.
"Well a while ago, live a man, cursed into a Snake, so scary, no one went near him."
"But why was he cursed?" James asked.
"Well if I remember the legend, it says that he was cursed because he completely forgot about his lover, and he was turned into a cold hearted creature, and in order to break the curse, he must find love with someone who wouldn't care about looks, but The heart instead." The clerk said.
"Ah, so that must be where the girl comes in." Said James, piecing together the story.
"Right you are, The girl managed to see past his scaly appearance and saw the good with in, they slowly fell for each other, and the curse was broken, and The serpent knew right then and there that she was the one for him, so he made her this very ring himself, and proposed to her."
James looked up at the clerk, confusion glistening in his eyes, "But why is this not in gringotts?"
"That is because they see no value in it. It was handmade, and therefore useless. But I'll tell you this, true love is better than anything money could buy."
"That ring is really special, I can't wait to give it to them.." James smiled to himself, handing the clerk the money. The ring was placed in a black box, and was givem to James, along with the two bracelets he purchased.
"Hey Sev I'm..." James looked around but Severus was gone, all that was left was James's jacket, and Severus's flowers, lying on the ground, "back.."
