Flirting with the enemy (A Jeverus story)

The past year seemed to fly by so quickly. For Severus, it seemed like only yesterday was the day that everything fell into place, the day that made him fall in love with James Potter. And to think, now they are in Godrics Hollow, two blocks away from where Lily lived. (Lily lives in the house from the books the one that got blown up)
"James do you need help with the boxs?" Severus called from upstairs, where he was organizing the B oxs.
"No thanks babe! I'll be fine!" James called back bringing the stuff for the kitchen.
Severus still blushed at the couple name James gave him, it still had the effect it did when they were still at Hogwarts.
He stood up, grabbing a box from one of the corners and taking it to their now shared bedroom. His eyes filled with tears as he realized that the box contained his Slytherin tie, a few of his parchments and quills, and his book that he was so in love with. Severus turned to one of the pages, which so happened to be his favorite page.
"As the red head boy knelt down in front of the crowd, pulling out a ring that neared in his pocket. He offered to the boy, wanting their love to last forever." Severus read.
"And even though many people were obligant to this, the young Prince threw himself into the taller boys arms, crying his answer over and over, as tear fell down his cheeks..."
"Wha-" Severus turned around, noticing James standing at the top of the stairs, leaning on the sorry frame, "How did you?"
"You've read that book to many times, And that always seemed to be your favorite chapter, so-" Severus ran into his arms, hugging him tightly.
His eyes became full of tears, as he hid his face in his Fiances chest, "I love you.."
James brushed his hands through his hair, "I love you too Sev.."
Severus sniffled, he looked up at James smiling widely. Still to this day, James's heart would skip a beat every time he say the smile that belonged to his lover.
"How about you finish unpacking... I Have to run over to Lilly's real quick to grab some more garbage bags." James spoke.
"Oh I'll come with you!" Severus insisted.
"No, no.. I'll be back, I promise Sev, wait here for me?" Severus nodded, as James hurried out of the house, and over to Lily's.
Severus sometimes wished that there was a way for him and James's relationship to go to the next level. But since he was male, rather than female, there really was no possibility of them having a child, and thanks to the laws, Couples that consist of both males or both females are not allowed to adopt children. What if they asked someone they knew to have there child? What if they went around the neighbor hood looking for orphaned children? Severus shook those thoughts out of his head, there was no way.

"Does Severus know you decided to do this?" Lily asked, handing him a cup of tea.
"No, and I promise I'll let him know soon... I want to make sure you're okay doing this with me first.." James replied, taking a drink.
"Well of course I am, But I think you should tell Severus first, before we tale things to the next level.." Lily urged.
"But-"
"No buts James. You will tell Severus about this tonight,  It's not right keeping Secrets from him." Lily replied, her tone getting Serious.

James sighed, he didn't know how he was going to tell Severus about what he was doing with Lily. He didn't want to hurt him in any way.
"Your finally back." Severus stated, as he was cooking supper.
"Yeah, sorry it took so long.. We were going through a few memories of when we were younger." James replied, kissing the back of Severus's neck.
"Sit down, the foods almost ready, and I really need to talk to you about something."
James broke out into a cold sweat, how could Severus possibly know what's going on with him in Lily? No he didn't know, right? Then why did he need to talk to him,m was he going to break up with him? James shook his head, he couldn't get worked up over it.
He say down, trembling slightly, as Severus brought the food over. (I have no idea what there eating, use your imagination-)
"So James.. As I was saying, we need to talk." Severus said directly.
"W-What ever about?-" James said, intertwining his fingers together, as his voice cracked.
