May quickly approached, and with that came the coming up of the graduation for the Seventh years. The name Voldemort slowly rose to fame around there, but even then, he still wasn't much of a threat. At least not yet.

"James?" Sirius asked, watching his friend slump back into the couch in the common room, "What's got your feathers all ruffled up?"
James sighed, knowing full well he couldn't hide his mood with sirius, "It's just... The end of seventh year is approaching, and-"
"You dontg know what to do about your relationship." Sirius interuped, fixing his tie.
"How'd you know?" James replied, looking over the back of the couch, staring at his friend.
"James its no mystery that your worried about this, I mean I'm worried about what's gonna happen to Moony and me.. But we'll figure this out."
James turned back around, fiddling with his fingers, "What if I told you.. That I want to marry Severus..?"
Sirius scoffed, "Your just telling me this now?!"
James nodded his head slowly, and Sirius continued, "James. If you wanna marry him, then you have to be sure he's the one. One wrong move, and your life could fall apart, are you sure your ready for this?"
"You saw the engagement ring, I bought it only a month into our relationship..." James paused, taking a slow breath, "I think he's the one."
Sirius nodded, aware that James wasn't able to see him, "Then you have to plan how your going to do it, and when."
---
With the graduation less then 2 days away, James was busy planning in the days off they had. Sirius, and Remus staying by his side. (Peter started being secretive after hearing Voldemort was rising to fame-)
"Okay so we cross back over the lake at night." Remus pointed out.
"You can propose to Severus in the boats!" Sirius chimed in.
"Padfoot, sit down." Remus demanded, and Sirius did as told, "As I was saying, James can't propose to Severus in the boats because we are assigned the boats we go in."
"That's no fun." Sirius groaned, "Why can't we speak to Dumbldore about it?"
"Because Dumbledore surely won't the graduation just so one of the students, that he wasn't very fond of." Remus looked over at James, who smiled awkwardly, "Propose to his enemy of almost 7 years."
"There's a first for everything Remus." Sirius replied, laying back in his bed.
While the two continued bickering, James came up with his own plan, one that fit the description of the one Severus explained from his book he red. James would enchant the boats to circle around His and Severus's boat, once he convinced Dumbledore to let him. Under the stars, with the beautiful image of Hogwarts in the back, James would confront Severus, before being on one knee, in the boat, in front of a crowd, claiming his heart.
James stood up swiftly, "Thank you for your help." Remus and Sirius stared confusingly at James who left in a hurry.
"What was that about?" Sirius asked, pointing at James.
Remus shrugged,  "I have no idea."
---
James walked down the corridor towards Dumbledores office, when he caught a glimpse of the older man.
"Professor Dumbledore!" He called after him, "Professor!"
Dumbledore still seemed not to have heard, as James now continued to call him, while chasing him down.
"Professor please!" Dumbledore seemed to have heard his cries, as he now turned around.
"Why Hello Mr. Potter." He spoke, "What brings you here? Shouldn't you be packing?"
James was now bent over panting, "I already packed my things..."
"Then I'll be off now if you don't need anything." He replied, turning to leave before James grabbed onto his arm.
"Professor please Listen!" He cried.
Dumbledore nodded, brushing off James hand, "You are free to speak."
"We only have a few days until we graduate and leave the school forever..." He began and Dumbledore nodded, "And on the last day we take the boats back over the black lake..."
"And? Is there any problem Mr. Potter?"
James shook his head, "No.. But I was just wondering if I could get your permission to..."
Dumbledore gazed down at him, "Go on?"
James felt the heat rise to his face, "If
..If I could..." James paused. Taking a deep breath, "I want your permission to propose to Severus when we're taking the boats!"
"You want permission to propose?" Dumbledore asked, while James nodded, "Well you don't need my permission."
James looked up at him quickly "What?-"
(WuT-)
Dumbledore chuckled, "It's your proposal. You don't need my permission to propose, I'm not his dad." Dumbledore paused, before speaking in a whisper, "But If I were you I would go on and ask Mr. Snapes friends if it was alright for you to propose."
James nodded, "But Professor-" James looked around, but Dumbledore was no where in sight.
