Betty stood in front of the mirror in an elegant floor length white gown that accentuated her curves in all the right places. The silk material felt smooth against her pale skin and tickled her pedicured toes as it flowed gracefully over her white heels that gave her the perfect amount of height, but yet still not as tall as Jughead. The bodice hugged her waist as the low cut neckline reached just before the centre of her stomach. The spaghetti straps clung to her shoulders like a lifeline. Her golden hair was tucked back into an elegant yet messy updo that had minuscule flowers and diamontés cascading through her locks. On her chest lay a stunning silver necklace, a gift that she had received from her love on their year anniversary of engagement, since then Betty has not had the heart to remove it, until she passes it on to her own children. It had two symmetrical circles looped together in an unending rollercoaster that perfectly described them. Before Betty could start fussing with how she should hold her bouquet again, her mother opened the door slightly, knocking as she made her way in. She gasped when she saw her and they both felt themselves tear up with joy and disbelief. Never in a million years did Betty believe that they would finally get to this day. Her mother walked up to her and held both of her hands.
"You look absolutely stunning, Betty." A tear rolled out of Alice's eye and Betty used her manicured finger to wipe it away.
"Thank you, mom. Have you seen Jughead? How's he doing?" She rambled. Alice's smile grew.
"He's doing great, I've never seen him so nervous, not even when his book came out. The second that Veronica showed him the video of your proposal, he calmed down instantly. I think you just have that effect on him." They both giggled as Alice held out her arm for Betty to hold.
"Ready?" She asked, expectantly. Betty went to loop her arm between her mothers before she stopped herself.
"Oh wait..." She dropped her arm and passed her bouquet to her mom before she took her engagement ring off of her finger and on to the opposite hand, ready to put back on after the ceremony. Before she took the bouquet back, she lifted her veil from behind her head and brought it forward and reached out to hold Alice's arm again and reach for her bouquet.
"Now I'm ready." She stared. They made their way out of the manor house and walked down the large backstairs into the garden. Before long, they had reached the calming, glorious area that they chose to get married at. It was a beautiful long isle with a flowered arch at the end. She looked directly down and could see her soon to be husband standing at the end. Rows of chairs all turned to look back at her as she made her way down. In that moment, nothing else mattered. The moment that he turned and instantly burst into tears at the sight of her. She had never known Jughead to cry so publicly and she felt a slight jest of pride that she was the first person who had managed to get him to do it. Without even realising it, they had reached the front of the venue and Betty had tears escaping her eyes that matched the waterfall behind them. They came to a stop and Alice reached to remove Betty's veil from her face, drying her tears before grasping her face in her hands and shedding a few herself. She leaned forward and kissed her daughter on the cheek.
"Remember. I loved you first." She whispered quietly into her ear, still blubbering with tears. Betty nodded and Alice made her way to the seat at the front and let Betty make her way up the few steps, with the help of Jughead's hand. They reached the top and smiled at each other, tears still falling down each of their faces. This was the start of the rest of their lives together.
