Chapter 21

Veronica smiles as she watches the guy play soccer at the beach alongside Kim, Rachel and Emily, who's holding her niece and Quill's imprintee in her arms.

"Play."
Claire, the niece, claps her hands excitedly as she looks at the replacement ball of the boys.

Veronica, who is able to walk and run without a problem again, looks over at Rachel and the two girls jump up as they start to race towards the ball. Because despite only being back in Forks for a few months at the most, she feels like she's finally settled; and for the first time she actually feels like she has a home... she feels welcomed.

Veronica ends up winning the fight and holds the ball up in triumph with a stupid little dance as they wait for Claire to arrive before they start playing. It's a fun play, Veronica and Rachel having a little trouble not running too fast and not kicking too hard but they manage and in the end, they have a great game.

The girls would melt anytime Claire giggles because she managed to grab the ball or anytime she would scream in excitement as she shoots the ball through the two jackets they used to built a goal. At some point, Kim joins their play as well while Emily bids goodbye to make some food leaving the four girls to team up against each other; Rachel and Claire against Kim and Veronica. But, of course, Claire's team ends up winning.

"I winning."
the little girl screams excitedly, gaining the boy's attention.

Quill looks at her with adoration shining in his eyes and runs over to them, followed by the rest. Claire screams in shock as Quill picks her up to spin her around in the air; but it doesn't take long until giggles take over the silence around them.

Sam looks mildly worried as Claire starts to play with her legs wanting to fly higher but he doesn't comment knowing Quill will do everything to keep her safe. Seeing as his own imprint isn't here, he says goodbye as well and leaves to go home in the awareness they'll be there in an hour at the most. Emily is cooking and they will never say no to that.

The girls smiles as they are pulled into their Imprint's arms; Jared kissing Kim's temple with a sweet smile, Paul pulling Rachel in a heated kiss and Jacob kissing the back of Veronica's head.

Rachel look slightly disorientated as Paul pulls away from her; a proud smirking gracing his lips at her flustered state – the grin only growing as he sees Jacob's glare. The boys grow confused as their imprintees share a look; what are they on about?

Veronica sighs as she turns around in Jacob's arms; her arms wandering around his neck. The shifter looks down at her with an unreadable look as he waits for what's about to come.

"Hey, you."
she smiles up at him as she blinks in an innocent manner. This so can't be good.

"Hey?"
he replies unsure.

"You wouldn't mind driving us to the cinema tomorrow, would you?"
Veronica asks him. And with how she looks at him, he can't say no. she knows that and he knows that she does.

"What do you guys wanna see?"
Paul questions Kim, who looks alarmed at us.

"Nothing."
Rachel shrugs unbothered.

"Please."
Veronica gets back to the topic.

Jacob sighs but nods nonetheless.

"Can we come?"
Jared asks.

"No."
Rachel denies.

"What are we talking about?"
Quill joins them with Claire resting on his hips; her head laying in the crouch of his neck.

"They refuse to let us come to the cinema with them."
Jared glares slightly.

"You guys gonna watch Thor"?
Quill asks them with sparkling eyes.
