[Y/n]: Your name

[F/n]: Friend's name

[N/n]: Nickname

[Y/n]'s eyes opened wide, looking around. She sat up in bed, still in her pajamas and surrounded by darkness. She looked at her clock...it was the witching hour. She yawned, about to go back to sleep, until there was a loud crashing sound, coming from downstairs.

"What the hell?!" [Y/n] uttered.

She sprang from bed and quietly went to investigate, but when she reached the top of the stairs, a wonderful aroma filled her nose.

"Mmm...wait...is that...cinnamon?"

Resting her hand on the railing, [Y/n] slowly made her way downstairs, following the scent. Once she reached the bottom, she heard another loud crashing noise.

"Dad? Is that you?"

No answer.

"...[S/n], if that's you in the kitchen, you'd better not be getting into my cookies!!!"

She was halfway across the living room, when she suddenly she heard a loud noise that sounded like bones crackling. [Y/n] slowly turned around to see a terrifying horse skeleton, with the longest neck she had ever seen. "AHHHHHHHH!!!!" [Y/n] screamed loudly.

"That's it, no more snacks before bedtime" she muttered groggily.

Suddenly her bedroom door opened as the lights turned on, and there stood [Y/n]'s father in his pajamas, an expression of concern daunting his face.

"[Y/n]?! I heard you scream! Is everything alright?!"

[Y/n] rubbed one eye with her hand.

"I'm fine Dad...sorry for waking you...I just had a nightmare"

[Y/n]'s Father was half relieved, and half confused.

"Nightmare? You never get those...not since..."

His face fell.

"Well...Your Mo-"

"WE...don't have to talk about it" [Y/n] interrupted.

Her father nodded and sat on the bed.

"Anyways, mind telling me about it?"

[Y/n] paused, then shook her head.

"It's not important"

"You sure?"

[Y/n] nodded softly.

"Okay..." He sighed

He pulled [Y/n] into a one-armed hug.

"I'm just glad you're okay, [N/n]"

[Y/n] leaned into his hug.

"Thanks Dad...I love you"

He smiled down at her.
