[Dream and George]

Prompt: Dream is stressed out because of some of the hate he is getting and George reassures him.

---

George had just finished up with streaming for the day. After saying bye to his viewers, he signed off, ending the stream. Once he was sure everything was off, he leaned back in his chair, letting out a soft sigh. Another tiring day of streaming, with a multitude of donations flowing in asking him to say certain things. Not that he really minded saying most things, it just got a bit overwhelming.

Getting up from his chair, he made his way out of his room. Stepping into the hallway, he wondered where Dream was.

The two of them shared a house together, and Sapnap would occasionally stop by to visit and stay over for a few nights. It was nice for George, since he lived so far away before.

Looking around the house, George hummed to himself, grabbing a snack from the kitchen. While he was munching on some crackers and leaning against the counter, a familiar form came into view out of the corner of his eye.

"Hello, Dream," George greeted the dirty-blonde, turning his body around to face the other male.

Dream said nothing in response, walking into the kitchen and getting a water bottle. George noticed how Dream seemed to squeeze the bottle tightly, causing it to make a crinkling noise. George knew something was up, so he carefully extended a hand and placing it on Dream's forearm. The taller man turned to look at him, green eyes locking with his brown ones.

"What?" Dream asked, a bit of poison laced into his voice.

"What's wrong," George questioned, getting straight to the point. The younger man only groaned, shrugging the older off of him.
"It's nothing."

"It sure doesn't seem like nothing," George sighed. He crossed his arms, leaning against the counter once again as he continued to stare at the other man. He knew something was up, Dream just had to tell him what it was.

Dream only sighed, pushing past George and making his way over to the couch. He grabbed the remote, switching on the tv. George, of course, followed him and sat down beside him.
There was a bit of an awkward silence between them as the tv show seemed to talk for them. The only interaction they had was wordless, and it was Dream simply wrapping his arm around the other.

George could see that Dream's hand was shaking slightly, and after a while, when it didn't stop, he got a bit concerned. So, he reached for the remote, and paused the tv.

"I was watching that, y'know?"

"Yeah, and I've been watching your trembling hand for the past 15 minutes. What's up?"

Dream only groaned, slouching in his seat. "I said, before, it's nothing."

"Don't just push it off and lie to me Dream. I need to know so I can help."

Dream sighed, taking his arm off of George and crossing it.

"Fine. There's just been so much hate going around recently, and it's stressing me out. I don't know what to do about it."

George hummed, "I see. Is there a reason?"

"No. I've just been seeing really cruel things online about me that aren't true and it's getting to me."

The older man sighed. "Dream, we've been over this before. With 10 million plus subscribers, you are going to have some haters. But, those haters will never amount to the genuine fans, and I know you know that."

Dream nodded wordlessly.

"And as you've said yourself, there's always going to be a few bad apples out there that just want to get you down, but you have to look past those few, and look to the many good ones that are out there and willing to support you. For example, me. You know that I support you and am always here for you, even though I might act a bit colder while on streams."

"Yeah, you refuse to tell me that you love me," Dream scoffed, although it was mostly him joking.

"Well, I'll say it now. I love you, Dream. You are my best friend, and I love you so much. You mean the world to me, and that will never change."

Dream turned his head to look at George, cheeks tinted a light shade of pink. His eyes were wide, mostly in surprise, and in an instant, he was hugging the smaller male.

"Thank you, George."

"Anytime," George smiled, returning the hug. While he was always too afraid to say that he loved Dream on stream, he knew deep down that Dream already knew.

They loved each other. That would never change. No matter what happened, they would be there for each other.
