"Stormfly!" I hear Astrid scream in terror. I whip around to find our dragons trapped in thick tight net traps.
"Shit! Astrid get over here!" I yell back. She starts running back towards me but a man jumps out of the trees and tries to grab her arm. I look closer. It's the chief. Patch rushes towards the chief as Astrid escapes and runs towards me. Then another man jumps out of the trees and almost stabs me with his sword but I see him just in time. I duck and swing around, pull out my firesword, click it to life, and clash against his sword that was aimed for my head. In the corner of my eye I see Patch and the chief locked in combat as well. Astrid starts to turn back to the dragons, but quickly changes her mind. I block another swing from the guy trying to kill me and I take another glance to my right. I watch in horror as Patch makes a wrong move which gives the chief an open hit to Patch's head. He takes the hilt of the knife he's holding and slams it onto Patch's head receiving a grunt from him as he falls to the ground, unconscious. The guy fighting me took advantage of the distraction and sweeps my legs, causing me to fall to the ground with a grunt. I quickly bring my sword up to block his swing at my throat. I hear a scream to my right and glance over while still trying to keep the man's sword from slicing my neck. What I see angers me even more. The chief is now chasing Astrid across my line of sight. I watch as he grabs her and swings her around to face me. His hand clamps tightly around her mouth to keep her from saying anything. The murderous glint in the chief's eyes give me the sudden strength to shove the guy off of me. I roll him under me and, before thinking twice, I jump up, grab the disorientated man's sword from his hand, and jab it through his heart, ending his life before he could blink. I throw the sword to the ground and turn to face the chief and Astrid.
My eyes shoot death glares into his soulless eyes. He smirks and holds Astrid tighter. I see her wince in pain from his tight grip. I make a mover towards him but I'm stopped.
"Uh uh uh! I wouldn't do that, if I were you," the chief snaps back and pulls a knife from his armor, bringing it to rest against Astrid's throat. My eyes widen in terror and I lower my sword. I stare into Astrid's eyes which show so much fear and anger. She's been through way too much to have to go through this again.
"Let her go," I demand.
"Hmmmmm I don't think I want to, Hiccup,"
He says my name with so much venom. So I guess my reputation has spread through the village. Fine by me.
"What a lovely girl you've got here, Hiccup. Would be a shame if anything-" he pauses to take a deep breathe in Astrid's hair, smelling her. I see Astrid flinch and struggle against his restraints. He pushes the knife closer to her throat, causing her to stop moving, and he brings his hand down from her mouth to wrap around her arms and waist.
"- were to happen to her."
