All of a sudden, a bald dark-skinned boy who seemed about 18-19 years old and the oldest of the boys, walked up to me and had a sympathetic look on his face.
"Hey there, Green-bean. My name is Alby. Can you tell me your name? Anything you remember?" said the dark-skinned boy who I now know his name is Alby. His voiced sounded sympathetic, trusting, yet a little bit intimidating.
I try to remember my name or at least anything in my past, but failed.
"I...I can't remember. Where am I? Why can't I remember anything?" I asked while panicky. Then I started having an anxiety attack.
"Hey, calm down. It's okay. You're not the only one. It happens to us all. But, you'll get your name back in like a day or two. That's the one thing they let us keep. Come. Let me show you around." Alby reaches his hand out.
I wasn't sure if I could trust him, but I hold his hand as he helps me up, and I realize my Charley horse on my ankle finally went away.
"We eat here, we sleep here, we grow our own food...anything we need, the Box provides. The rest is up to us." Alby says as she shows me around.
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion at what he meant by "the Box". Alby read my face and told me that once a month the Box comes up with fresh supplies and new Greenie and this month it's me.
"You're also the only girl here which we didn't expect." Alby said as I widened my eyes in shock and confusion that I was the only girl here. No wonder they were shocked when I showed up, they'd never seen a girl before.
"How's it going with the new girl-Greenie, Alby?" I heard the British boy from earlier ask and walk over to us with a smile on his face. What I noticed was that he didn't really walk to us, he limped to us, which made me a little curious.
"Green-bean, meet Newt. When I'm not available, he's in charge." Alby introduces me to the cute British boy who I first saw when I arrived and started to trust.
"Well it's good that you're always around then." he jokes as him and Alby chuckle. He shakes my hand and smiles very kindly at me.
I start to blush a little at Newt's cuteness, his adorable smile, his soothing British accent, his pure brown eyes, and how trusting and kind he is. But I hide my face so he doesn't notice me blushing.
"Newt, you don't mind showing the new Greenie around while I'm on a quick break, do you?" Alby asks Newt.
"No, no, not at all. You need one, man." Newt smiles as he pats Alby on the back. As Alby wanders off for a quick break, it's just me and Newt. My heart was pounding at the thought of me being alone with Newt.
"Come on, love. Guess it's now my job to show you around. There's gonna be a celebration tonight in honor of your arrival." Newt says as he holds my hand to show me around.
I blush at when he called me "love". It made my heart pound even more and blush. But I didn't notice Newt see me blush a little bit.
"You alright?" Newt asks sympathetically while smiling.
"Yeah.." I say shyly. Even though I have no memory of my past or my name, at least I still have my personality. I don't really talk much sometimes, but it depends on who I know really well or trust. And I have social anxiety, so sometimes I might get awkward while having a conversation or get anxious and emotional very easily. And I'm not really that sassy or tough, I'm really an innocent and kind girl.
"You sure?" he checked again.
"Mm hmm.." I nod.
"Are you shy? It's okay to be shy. Especially since you're new here and all." Newt says which literally made me blush instantly and nod.
"Okay.." I reply.
Newt smiles at me which I thought his smile lightened up my day and made me smile back.
*time skip*
After a few minutes of Newt showing me around the place surrounded by walls, I noticed an opening between the walls. Alby finished his break and decided both him and Newt show me around.
"What's out there...?" I ask with my eyes hypnotized on the opening of the walls.
Alby and Newt exchange looks at each other and look at me with serious faces.
"We only have three rules here. First, do your part. We don't have time for any freeloaders." Alby explained.
"Second, never harm another Glader. None of this works unless we have trust." Newt says.
"And most importantly......never go beyond those walls. You understand me, Greenie?" said Alby.
When he told me to never go beyond the walls, it's making me curious even more.
"Can...Can you at least tell me what's out there?" I ask them getting a little intimidated.
"Relax... I'll talk to you about it later tonight, okay?" Newt soothes me.
I nod, looking down.
