As I stay with Aris, Sonya, and Harriet, I start getting bored and also worried about Newt. I hope Newt and the others save Minho and make it out alive. I remembered my memory about Newt and Sonya being brother and sister and that her real name was Lizzie. Even though Sonya and I didn't really talk much to each other, I decided to socialize with her a little more and get to know her so we can be friends. I walk over to her.
"Hi. Sonya, right?" I greet her.
"Yeah. And you're Jacqui, right?" she asks me since we haven't interacted much.
"Yeah. I know we already met back in the mountains." I respond to her.
"You like one of the boys, I see, um...what's his name? Uh..." Sonya says and she tries to remember Newt's name.
"Newt." I correct her with a smile.
"Right. Right. Newt. He's the British one, right?" she asks.
"Yeah." I say while smiling.
"What's he like?" she asks. I look at her almost as if I was starting to hit jealous mode but I forgot she doesn't know that Newt's her brother and he doesn't know that Sonya is his sister, so my jealous mode goes away.
"He, uh...Well, he's very kind, understanding, inspiring, gentle, and very protective. And I just love his accent and everything about him. He makes me feel safe." I say while blushing.
"Aww." Sonya puts her hand on her heart and smiles at the thought of Newt with all those personalities. I chuckle at her reaction.
"He's cute, huh?" I smile.
"Yeah. He is." Sonya responds.
"Yeah...but...there's, uh...oh boy...how do I say this? There's...something that you don't know about him...and you." I say to her nervously.
"What do you mean?" she asks as she furrows her eyebrows in confusion. I exhale as I try to get the words out. I might as well tell her everything that happened before while we were in the maze and what I saw and also how Newt got his limp 2-3 years ago. Aris and Harriet were also interested to know what I was talking about. Guess it's story time.
"Okay, guys. I'm gonna tell you guys everything." I get ready to tell them.
*time skip*
"...and that's what I saw in my memories. I had to tell you. Sonya...you and Newt...are...brother and sister. And your real name was Lizzie." I finish the story about everything that happened and what we went through.
"Whoa..." Sonya looks down trying to piece everything together.
"Yeah. It's true." I nod.
"You guys really have been through a lot. And I'm so sorry about your mother." Harriet says as she looks at me sympathetically.
"Thanks. And Newt just told me that he has the Flare. He's not dangerous yet. It looked like he just got it." I reply worriedly.
"Oh my...I'm sorry, Jacqui..." Harriet puts a hand over a mouth and puts a hand on my back, rubbing it gently.
"Don't give up on him. I'm sure he'll be okay." Aris says to me and gives me a reassuring look.
"I hope so. But I'm still worried about him. I'm thinking of a plan to...to stowaway on the berg so I can make sure he's safe. I can't stand the thought of losing him." I say to them.
"I get it, but...he said you need to be safe. If something happened to you, I can't imagine what it'd be like for him." Sonya said.
"I know, but I wanna have a life with him. And I can't lose him. Even if it risks losing myself I have someone to fight for. For him. Our love for each other is gotten strong and pure and I can't let it be destroyed." I say wholeheartedly.
"Okay. So what's the plan?" Harriet asks, agreeing with my words.
"Hmm..." I try to think. We huddle together and I whisper them the plan how I'm gonna stowaway on the berg.
