Chainsmokers' upbeat music echoed through the kitchen. You hummed softly as you sliced the vegetables on the kitchen counter. Singing along to the lyrics, you dropped all the nicely cutted veggies into a large pot.

You were planning on making a portion of corn soup to bring for lunch. Not for you, but for Hwasa who texted you the night before, informing that she's having a toothache. Therefore, you decided to wake up early and cook for her. I mean, it's not like you're even asleep last night.

It was currently 5 in the morning and the two-bedroom dorm was practically empty. Jungkook was out a few moments ago with an unconscious Seulgi in his arms. He told you about going to her house. It's not like you care, you were actually thankful that he's out at the moment. Without him, you could cook in peace.

But it seemed like your peace flew away to your window when a certain Alpha opened the door..

Your nose sniffed the air lightly and was immediately met with his familiar sandalwood scent. You bit your lip as you tried to keep your emotions at bay.

His rut was definitely still there. Even if he knots his girlfriend plenty of times the night before, ruts won't finish until at least three days. Thus you expected him to finish his cycle by the end of the day.

"Turn down your music," you heard your roommate's monotone voice by the doorway. You turned around to take a glimpse of him, giving the Alpha a glare.

"You're not going to turn it off?" he questioned when you show your back to the man. You simply shook your head, busying yourself in seasoning your soup.

"I'm on my rut, my anger is out of control, so please," he said through gritted teeth, "Turn. It. Down."

You huffed angrily, shoving the spoon you were holding to the counter with a loud clink!

"You have no rights to tell me what to do, especially when you are the one who were being so loud last night," you shot him a glare.

Jungkook stared at you, looking a bit taken aback. "That's none of your business," he scoffed.

You raised an eyebrow, folding your hands infront of your chest. "It is my business when your moans prevent me from sleeping," you snarled before turning your back on him.

You heard the Alpha scoffed once again. But he decided to end the conversation once you heard his footsteps and a slam of his door.

"Some theorize that a lingering 'solar minimum' could result in crop loss, famine and brutal cold—"

Mr Im's lecture was no longer in your thoughts when Hwasa poked your shoulder. You glanced warily at the girl, furrowing your brows. You expected her to say something. But instead, she pointed to the window located by the door. Hesitantly, you turned your head to where it was.

A pair of brown orbs peeked behind the glass window. You frowned when you recognised the person. "Is that.."

"Jungkook," Hwasa finished your sentence.

"What the hell is he doing?" Your frown deepened once your eyes met with the boy's sharp glare.

Jungkook widened his eyes when the both of your gaze met. He moved his lips, communicating with you through the window, at the same time preventing himself from being caught.

"I think he's trying to say something," your friend pointed at the way Jungkook gritted his teeth. You let out a barely audible 'huh' when the arrogant Alpha motioned for you to go outside.

You bit your lip, patting Hwasa's shoulder to tell her you're going. She gave you a knowing look but nodded nonetheless.

"Mr Im, may I go to the toilet?" you begged to the tall teacher infront of the class. He sported a small smile, nodding at you curtly. You then quickly bowed, strolling your way out of the room.

As you closed the door behind you, you found Jungkook leaning on the wall opposite of you. He simply grabbed your wrist, pulling your petite body along with him.

"What are you doing?" you hissed lowly, not wanting the other classes to hear.

The man—whose hand were currently gripping you—shut you up with a glare. You followed him despite the anger building in your stomach. It was silence between the both of you, until he reached the empty multifunctional room and locked the door behind him.

"The fuck?" you pulled your hand away from him, your heart thumping once you saw his eyes turning red. You knew he's angry by the colour of his orbs.

"What is wrong with you?" you rubbed your wrist with a frown.

Jungkook bit his lip harshly. You swore you saw a hint of blood oozing out of the reddened skin.

"Did you or did you not spray your perfume on my clothes?" he squeezed his eyes shut as if trying to suppressed his anger. You glanced at his hands that were clenched into a fist.

Your left brow raised at his question. "You brought me here to ask that when you clearly know I don't even use perfumes."

The Alpha slowly looked down, his gaze boring into you. "So you rubbed your body onto my clothes?" he asked once again. His anger showing by the tone of his voice.

You stared at him, clearly dumbfounded. "The hell? Why would I?"

"DON'T!" his voice literally shook the whole room. You felt yourself trembled as he took a step closer to you. A small yelp slipped through your lips when he pinned you to the wall behind you.

"Don't act dumb," Jungkook sneered. His hands gripping onto both of your wrist, preventing you to move.

"This is all your fault," his growl sent shiver down your spine. You closed your eyes, afraid of what he might do next.

You heard the man sighed. His hot breath fanning your upper lips. "Seulgi smelled your scent on me," he gritted his teeth, scaring you even more. "If something happens to my relationship with her, the fault is yours."

At last, he let go of your wrist, leaving a faint bruise on the skin. You glared at him as you rubbed your hand to soothe the pain. "It's normal, you dickhead," you barked while the man stared at you boringly.

"We're roommates. My scent lingered through our dorm and so do yours," you glared at him for the last time before straightening up. Without sparing a glance at Jungkook, you walked away—slamming the door shut behind you.

As usual you sat at the back of the cafeteria with Hwasa. You weren't eating, instead you stared at the girl across of you as she gulped the soup you made for her.

"So.." she trailed off, wiping her lips with the back of her hand. You threw a tissue at her and she snickered while cleaning the smudge on her skin.

"So?" you raised a brow, resting your head on your palms.

"About your birthday," Hwasa leaned forward. Her face turned serious. "Are you ready to be an Alpha?" she questioned worriedly.

You bit your lip, your mood suddenly deflated at the sound of the topic.

"I don't know," you shrugged nonchalantly.

Hwasa sighed, her eyes showing her worries about your birthday that would happen in a few days. You're about to celebrate your seventeenth birthday.

For teens—at the age of sixteen, they should come out as an Alpha, Beta, or an Omega. But for you, it seemed different. Last year, at your sixteenth birthday, you waited for your first rut to struck. But nothing happen. And it was confusing to say the least.

Your family were Alphas. So automatically, your parents and your friends expected you to be one too. But as time goes by, you swore you felt your scent smelled sweeter than how an Alphas' scent should be. Alphas usually have a stronger scent, musk-like (sometimes mint or barley). You knew your parents would still accept you if you come out as an Omega. But you couldn't help but to feel disappointed of yourself if you become one.

Hwasa has been by your side ever since you told her about this. She's an Alpha and as your best friend, she taught you a lot of things about her kinds.

She showed you how Alphas take care of their ruts. And you were terrified when she showed you how it would affect your body. Female Alphas need a lot of meds when it comes to rut. Other than suppressants, they need lotions, pills, syrups, and not to mention the lots of toys.

That's probably why you were scared to come out.

Coming out as an Alpha? You felt like you're not ready to take care of your body.

Coming out as an Omega? You didn't want to disappoint your parents' expectation.

"If you..If you come out as an Omega," Hwasa held your hand gently from across the table, "I will stay by your side, and so do your parents."

You smiled at her words. She has been such a sweetheart when it comes to this. "Thanks," you mouthed at her. She nodded, patting your hand.

"Okay, enough of this. What's your plan for tonight?" she wiggled her brows, resting her chin on her fist.

You rolled your eyes jokingly, discreetly thankful for how her personality lightened up the mood. "I'm just going to rest," you shrugged. The girl across of you sported an unimpressed look.

"You're no fun," she scowled.

"What? You expect me to go with you to the mall again?" you smiled amusedly, "hell no, baby. I ran out of money."

Hwasa widened her eyes at you. "Who said we're going on another shopping haul?" she pretended to feel offended, resulting you to snort.

You shrugged your shoulders once again, sipping on your drink nonchalantly. "So what are you on about right now?"

You could see she's more than happy to answer. Seeing the smile on her face, you felt like she's going to say something stupid.

"I won't go if it's a party."

Hwasa's face contorted into a frown at your words. "How do you know I'm going to say that?" she flailed her arms. You let out a chuckle at that.

But she simply pouted. "You don't want to go with me?" she gave you her signature puppy eyes. You jokingly gagged. A slap landed on your shoulder as you laughed.

"You're fine with going by yourself last week, it won't be any different tonight," you reasoned out. But Hwasa sighed. "C'mon babe," she whined.

"It'll be fun, I promise," she showed you her pinky finger, pouting cutely.

"Drinks will be on me," she whispered cautiously. Your ears perked up at her words.

"So?" she raised her brow, smirking at you.

Knowing there's no point in arguing with her, you sighed. "I'm going to borrow your dress, though."
