"Babe," Hwasa sat herself down across of you. You looked up from your lunch, sending a wink her way. "Sup, where have you been?"

"Forgot to send in my homework," the tall girl cringed, "but we're not talking about that right now."

"Hm?" you confusedly look at her, "what do you mean?"

"I just realised something during class, and I think we should talk about it," she sighed.

"You look troubled," a frown settled on your face. You picked up your bottle before lending it to the girl. "Drink up first and then we'll talk."

Hwasa nodded but put the bottle back to your side. "Eunha don't you realise something when you write today's date?"

You glance at your water bottle before tilting your head. "No offense but can you go straight to the point? I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Your birthday," Hwasa sighed. Your body tensed up at those two words and she felt it too. "We should talk about it now, babe. You can't just brush it away forever."

"I know but—"

"What? You're scared that your parents will disown you?" Hwasa beat you to it. And you're not even amazed that she could guess through your skin.

The girl's eyes softened when you play with the hem of your shirt. "I can't help it," you shook your head.

"An omega or not, you'll still be their blood and flesh, babe," your closest friend reached her hand out to cover yours. You looked at your connected hands. "Trust me, they will still love you even if you come out not as an Alpha. And also, do you think I would stop befriending you if you're actually not my kind?"

"I want you to be ready, okay?" you nodded at her words, her eyes comforting you just like it always do, "do some research or call me if you feel something different with your body, don't hesitate."

"If you don't reach out for someone because you're disappointed with your identity, I swear I'll break your leg," she nudged your hand. A chuckle left your throat at her glare. "Yes ma'am."

"Good," Hwasa grinned, "I'll be there for you, don't worry."

You walked down the corridor, your head hung low. Hwasa was nowhere beside you due to an emergency phone call from her sister. A soft sigh escaped from your lips as you focused on your shoes clicking on the tiles. Other than the muffled sound of chattering, it was silent. But the peaceful silence was no longer there when your phone rang.

You fumbled with your jeans pocket, pulling out your brightly lit phone. A certain contact name shown on the screen, making you smile. You pressed on the button to be greeted by a familiar voice.

"Hi, mom," you chuckled.

Your mother cooed through the phone. "How have you been, dear? Is Hwasa treating you well? There's a lot of bullies in school, is there someone bothering you? How about your sleeping schedule? Eight hours a day? C'mon tell me, I've been so worried about you since you left."

You couldn't help but rolled your eyes jokingly. "Mom, slow down," you laughed. "You're starting to sound like dad."

You could hear the woman snickered from across the line. "Can't help it," her voice sounded playful.

"So.. Eunha," your mom began. You hummed in response. Your eyes focused on the empty hallway, careful not to trip.

"Hwasa told me about something." You felt a lump in your throat as soon as she said her name. It must be related to my upcoming birthday, you guessed.

"Is it true you were not feeling well? Is it regarding your birthday?" your mother's voice was soft, making you felt like home.

"I'm just afraid, that's all," you tried to smile over the phone. But you couldn't fool your mother.

"There's something that you're hiding from me," she sighed. You bit your lip as she looked through your mask.

"It's okay, tell me dear," she persuaded.

"I want to ask you something," you said slowly. Your mother hummed, letting you to ask her anything.

"What if.. I'm not an Alpha?" you questioned carefully. A low sigh was heard from across the line.

"Darling, listen. If you're thinking that your father and I would kick you out from the house when we found out you're not like one of us, you're wrong. Alpha or not, you're still our daughter," she convinced you. Your mother's words were always magical in every situation. You started to feel better but the lump was still there.

"I know, mom. I should've known, I'm sorry for assuming those things," you pursed your lips.

"No need to apologise," the voice across the line said.

"Right," you felt yourself smiling at her voice.

"I'm going to my last class now, talk to you later?"

Your mom hummed through the phone. "Sure, honey. Stay healthy!"

You whispered your goodbye before ending the call. A smile painted your lips as you tucked in your phone into your pocket.

Too busy staring into spaces, you got startled when the bell rang. It was the bell for the last class. You widened your eyes in an instant, immediately running to the particular room. Your feet moved as fast as they can and abruptly stopping when you saw a brown oak door. You fixed yourself to look more presentable before knocking on the door. Pressing the knob softly, you muttered a few prayers under your breath.

"Finally, I thought you were ditching my class Ms Yoon," a sluggish voice greeted you as you closed the door behind you. You bit your lip, embarrassed for being scolded infront of the class.

"I'm sorry, Sir," you muttered.

Your physics teacher sighed. He nodded curtly before letting you sit on your table.

As you looked up, you immediately sported a frown. Your table on the back was occupied by none other than the devil. A devil in a form of the dance club leader. You shot a glare at her direction, your anger bubbling when you received a smirk in return.

You huffed, walking to the other end of the room. But as you walked, you caught a pair of brown orbs. The eyes that somehow cooled down your anger.

Jungkook gave you a smile, waving his hands. He pointed to the unoccupied pair of seats on the middle row. Your eyes brightened up, nodding at him and mouthing a thanks to the man.

Relieved that you won't be sitting at the front, you sat yourself on the blue chair. As you pulled out your book from your bag, you heard the chair beside you screeched. You didn't even got to look up when Jungkook's shoulder brushed yours. He shot you a wink before getting comfortable on the seat next to you.

"Are you thirsty for detention?" you frowned at him, but you couldn't help the warm feeling bubbling up in your chest.

Jungkook averted his gaze from the board to raise a brow at you. "If that's a word that means I'm going to be in the same room with you. Plus a bed, minus our clothes, then yes," his voice was an octave lower. You widened your eyes, slapping his shoulder.

"What is wrong with you," you glared at him. The smirk on Jungkook's face widened, slowly contorting into a bunny-like grin.

"You're blushing," he pointed at your face. You could see that he's trying not to burst out laughing in the middle of the class.

"I am not," you quickly cupped your cheeks.

"Why are you here anyways?" you questioned, releasing your face to open your book.

Jungkook was still looking at you, despite your eyes focusing on the pages. "You look lonely," he simply reasoned out.

"You should look at her before sitting here, you know," you glanced at him. The Alpha knitted his brows.

"Her?" he asked obliviously.

You bit your lip, cautiously turning your head to look at your seat in the back of the class. And you were right—Seulgi was glaring at you like you're the person she hates the most. Well, technically you were.

Jungkook followed your eyes, instantly having an eye contact with his ex. "What's her problem?" he whispered to you.

"I think she's jealous," you guessed, averting your gaze back to the front. The man let out a scoff, shaking his head.

"Well now she knows what she's been missing out," he snickered as he sat properly again.

You couldn't help but smile at his comment. "There's the strong Alpha," you nudged his shoulder. The decent man looked down at you, smirking gracefully.

"I'm more than strong," he blew you a kiss. You playfully pushed him, but not strong enough to land him on the floor.

"Are you going home?" Jungkook asked you, slinging his bag in the process. The class was currently empty as people immediately rushed out as soon as the bell rang.

You nodded, mirroring his action. A frown painted your face when you heard the man sighed.

"Is there something wrong?" you questioned carefully.

He nodded, a disgruntled look on his face. "I have a part-time job," he scowled, "but I don't want to go."

A laugh erupted from you as you heard his childish words. "You should go," you patted his arm.

He looked at you, giving you a look. "No money, no food to eat," you sang, grinning at the man.

Jungkook groaned dramatically. "You talked like my mother," he jutted his lips. You simply laughed at his words.

"I'll walk you to the gate," you offered. Jungkook nodded with a sigh. He grabbed your wrist, bringing you with him as he exit to the corridor. You were caught completely off guard, but you stayed quiet nonetheless.

"What's your part-time job?" you questioned, walking alongside with the man.

Jungkook tilted his head before answering. "Counting money at a shoe shop," he chuckled, finding his job a bit funny.

You turned your head to look at him, an amused smile settling on your lips. "A cashier?" you asked, impressed that an arrogant man like him would work as something else other than being a CEO or those kind of jobs where he would rule the people under him.

"Yeah, cool right? The shop owner hesitated to accept me at first," he reported. Chuckling as he recalled the particular day.

"Why?" you snorted.

Jungkook shrugged. "Maybe he's jelly of my face," he smirked down at you.

You gave him a look, moving your lips to a silent curse. "You and your selfish mind."

Jungkook laughed, wrapping his arm around you. "Don't tell me you don't like it," he cheekily teased. You couldn't help but smile.

If you tell your past self that you befriended Jungkook, you swore you would laugh at yourself. Perhaps you would even kill yourself. It seemed dramatic but it was your opinion on him. The past him.

Even right at the moment, you found the newly made friendship a little bit funny. It was almost ridiculous when you admitted that you felt comfortable to be around the arrogant Alpha.

Since the particular day when you comforted the man, you realised that he's none of the things you thought about him. He may be arrogant, but that's the trait that made you liked him even more. You liked the way he would scowl at your jokes, or the way he laughs when you did something stupid. To your past self, it was an annoying act. But now, it was rather a friendly act that you adore.

You realised how you started to yearn for his voice or his company. You felt the way you would feel when you talked to Hwasa. But it's much more than that, and you were certain. It's more than a friendly feeling where you would miss your friend if they don't text you. It was much more than those feeling where you wanted to see your friend getting mad when you tease them. It was more.

And it was hard for you to admit it. You didn't want to admit it. He's your roommate. He wouldn't feel the same way you felt towards him. And on top of that, he thought of you as a friend. Nothing more than that.

But you were certain and confident about your feelings. Those things won't stop your growing crush on Jungkook. Instead, it pushed you to want him more.

But the other side of you respected the man. His privacy was your priority. You didn't want your feelings to ruin your friendship with him. So you decided to hid your seedling feeling, burrying it deep in the ground and let it bloom when the right time comes.

A simple crush wouldn't change anything, right?
