As Lucy and Y/n walked away with Mrs Macready, Peter and Susan turned to walk away but the professor cleared his throat so they followed him to his office.

"You seem to have upset that delicate internal balance of my house keeper."
He spoke once they arrived at his office as he stuffed his pipe with weed.
(No, not the illegal type.)
"We're very sorry, Sir. It won't happen again.
Peter told the professor and tried to get up and leave but Susan stayed.

"It's our sister, Sir. Lucy."
She spoke.
"The weeping girl?"
The professor asked and she nodded.
"She's upset."
"Hence the weeping."
"It's nothing we can't handle."
Peter said, trying to leave.
"Oh, I can see that."
The professor spoke sarcastically.
Susan glared at Peter and looked at the professor.

"She thinks she's found a magical land,"
The professor smiled at this.
"In the upstairs wardrobe, and Y/n says it's real too."
The professor looked up at this.
"What did you say?"
He asked curiously and led them over to sit down on the couches

"The wardrobe, upstairs."
Peter repeated in an annoyed tone.
"Lucy thinks she's found a forest inside and Y/n keeps saying it exists to!"
"They won't stop going on about it."
Susan told him.

"What was it like?"
The professor questioned them.
"Like talking to lunatics!"
"No, no, no, not them, the forest!"
"The siblings exchanged confused glances.
"You're not saying you believe them?"
Peter asked the professor.
"You don't?"

"But of course not. I mean logically, it's impossible!"
Susan said. The professor leaned back on his chair and wondered out loud.
"What do they teach at school these days?"

"Edmund said they were only pretending."
Peter blurted out.
"And he's usually the more truthful one, is he?"
The professor asked the two.
"No...this would be the first time."
"Well, if they're not mad and not lying, then logically,"
He looked at Susan.
"we must assume they are telling the truth."
He told Susan and Peter as he lit his pipe.

"You're saying the we should just believe them?"
Peter asked, shocked at the professor's statment.
"She's your sister isn't she? And the other girl is your friend, you're family to them!"
The professor told them as the two eldest Pevensies looked at eachother sceptically.
"You might just try acting like one!"

Peter and Susan then went to bed, that conversation on their minds.
