A little break from the world (WS+D)

Sort of a part 2 to Caught- So uh, this is going to be long prepare yourselves

*Harry's POV*

I sighed as I walked up to Remus and Sirius's room, hoping they'd give me permission. It was the summer between fourth and fifth year, and the air had been a little tense around the house since I barely made it out alive, and Cedric was killed. Now that Voldemort was back, I was barely able to go outside since the visit at the Dursley's.

Remus and Sirius had complete custody of me, yes. But the neighbors were getting suspicious that I wasn't there as much anymore, so against my will, I was sent to live with them for a few days. And that's when it happened. Dudley was, as always, teasing me. I remember vividly what happened.

I was walking through Little Whinging when I sadly bumped into Dudley, a little grateful that his cronies weren't with him. "I heard you screaming last night. 'Don't kill Cedric! Don't kill Cedric!'" Dudley mocked me, using a high-pitched voice. "Who's Cedric, your boyfriend?" Dudley said, which made me think of Draco and my anger immediately dissipated as I thought of the boy I loved most in the world. I missed him so much. 

"Leave me alone, Dudley. I'm heading back and if I were you, I'd head back, too. You never know where there's a wizard or witch around. They're everywhere." I smirked as Dudley's fearless bad boy facade crumbled and his smirk was replaced by worry.

If there was one thing I knew, was that Dudley was still terrified that I was a wizard, and though it reassured him to learn I couldn't use magic out of school, that reassurement disappeared when I blew up Aunt Marge a few years back. I started going back and rolled my eyes when I heard steps behind me, knowing Dudley was following me. Little did I know that about two hours later, my cousin and I had survived a Dementor attack, I had single handedly fended them off and was expelled from school by using underage magic.

That was the last time during this summer that I was forced to go back there.

I felt terrible, since before that attack the air was already tense at home, but now it was even worse and I could tell Remus and Sirius had been mad at me since the getting expelled and the hearing. Now there was always someone with me. But I was extremely bored at home, and even though Remus, Sirius and I always had fun, they seemed to be more sirius lately. Ron and Hermione had completely stopped responding to my owls, no matter how many I sent, (I wanted to say they ghosted him but I don't think that's a very wizard term to use💀) if I went outside it had to be within the range of six feet between me and the house, (no farther than that) and once or twice a week Remus and Sirius took turns 'babysitting' me while the other disappeared for about six hours and went to do god knows what.

No matter how many times I tried to ask, I always got the same answer. "Now, I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you." Is what Sirius would reply which the first time made me laugh, now I just rolled my eyes. 

"He's gone off to run around and 'do his business.' You know if we let him transform into a dog here he pees most of the time no matter how many times I tell him." Was Remus's answer whenever Sirius left. At first, I didn't mind it too much. I'd play with Sirius in his dog form when Remus was gone and when Sirius was gone Remus would teach me about creatures.

But lately, they both had become more distant, more secretive. Sirius rarely transformed into his animagus anymore and Remus spent most of his time in his office when Sirius left. Almost as if they'd forgotten of my existence. They also thought I couldn't hear them sneaking downstairs at night, flooing to the Weasley's. This all didn't add up, there was something they weren't telling me. I knew I wasn't supposed to, but I had been secretly owling Draco constantly. I was cut off from the rest of the world and couldn't even do magic to entertain me. What was I supposed to do? Go insane?
