Ooooooo. I know that hurt.
TWO WEEKS EARLIER
"Hey Suga." You opened your front door to see your brothers' friend. Suga gave a warm smile. "Hey!"
"Haru is coming back from the market, so he should be home in a few minutes." You explained, letting him inside. "No problem!" Suga said.
"...Hey, Suga?"
"Hm?"
"Could you...maybe...teach me how to serve?"

Suga watched as you demonstrated your serve in your backyard, hitting the volleyball across the grass. "Hmmm...There's something you're not doing right."
"I. Know. That." You squinted your eyes. "It feels weird in my hands and it never makes it over the net, unless I'm in a certain mindset."
Suga picked up the ball. "Have you tried a jump float?"
"Jump float?"
"Yeah, instead of a power serve. It looks like you have the power to hit the ball, but only for short distances, like spikes. Float serves don't require long distance arm power. You just have to hit the ball at the right angle."
"Float serve...Alright. Teach me how to do that."
PRESENT DAY
"Let's go, y/n! Give us a good serve!" Rin shouted from the sidelines. You took in a deep breath. The current score was 17 to 23, with the boys in the lead. At this point in the game, they're probably feeling cocky.
You swirled the ball in your hand, throwing it up in the air.
This is my first time serving during this whole set, so they won't be expecting this.
You pushed off the balls of your feet, hitting the ball lightly across the net. "Chance ball!" Noya prepared to receive the ball. Suddenly,
the ball swerved to the left.
"What the-?!" Noya gasped.
"Wasn't expecting that." Akaashi mumbled. "She's full of surprises."
"That should be illegal! It's like she has telekinesis!" Bokuto accused. Suga smiled. Asahi noticed him grinning. "What's with that smile?"
"...She learned the jump float."
Asahi cocked his head. "What are you talking about?" Suga shook his head. "Nothing, don't worry about it."
"ALRIGHT Y/N! Do it again!" Yui cheered. You swirled the ball in your hand. You tossed the ball in the air, and pushed off the balls of your feet.
"She's not tricking me this time." Noya mumbled, carefully watching the ball fly over the net. The ball landed straight onto his arms, but it bounced off, flying out of bounds to the right. The gym gasped.
"I thought I had full control!" Noya pouted. "Brush it off, Noya! It's no big deal!" Tanaka said, patting his back to cheer him up.
"She's scary." Kuroo shivered. "If only she was a guy, she'd be a great addition to the Karasuno team."
"It's not just her." Kenma mumbled. The boys turned to him. "All the girls are terrifying. Each one of them are able to pick up on everything the guys do. That's why the boys are starting to get irritated, especially Kageyama."
"What do you mean?"
"Ever since y/n and that Kayla girl copied their quick by only seeing it once, the whole team has been copying the boys' strategies, while incorporating their own tricks. Remember the synchronized attack? The boys did it one round, and the girls did the exact same thing the next round."
"All of them have great analysis skills, similar to Akaashi and Kenma." Bokuto mumbled. They all turned to him.

"Match point!" Tanaka shouted.
"Let's go guys!" Yamaguchi cheered.
BB threw the ball in the air, serving it over the net. Daichi retrieved it, the ball landing to Kageyama. He set it, the ball flying to Tanaka's hands.You and BB jumped the block. The ball slammed into you, it flying out of bounds.
*TWEET. TWEEEEEET*
"YEAH!!" The boys cheered.
"Damn it!" Misaki groaned.
"Shrug it off guys!" Yui clapped. "We'll take the next set!"
"Right!" They cheered. Kayla turned to you as she jogged off the court. "Come on, y/n let's get some water."
You slowly looked up, your hands covering your nose and blood dripping on your jersey.
"Oooooooo." Kuroo and Bokuto seethed. "I know that hurt."
