You've come a long way, y/n.
You started volleyball in 6th grade. Not because you found the sport fun, or interesting, but because you learned what a scholarship was.
Your parents were hardworking. Your dad worked two jobs, day and night. While your mother was a stay at home mom, raising your older brother, you, and your younger sister.
One night, you woke up in the middle of the night to hear your parents talking about money. How they were struggling, and other financial problems. They were even considering selling the house.
You went to your school nurse the next day and asked her;
"How can I make money for free?"
Of course, the nurse was a bit confused, but then she suggested you play a sport.
She explained something called a scholarship, and, though it make take a few years to receive the money, it would be worth it in the end.
So, you joined your middle school volleyball team. You progressed in skills quickly, often gaining your teammates admiration.
"You spend so much time playing sports now y/n! You don't even come over on the weekends to play anymore." Yachi pouted.
"Don't worry, Yachi! It'll be worth it. When I get money from playing volleyball, I can buy us all the things we want!" You assured her.

Yachi watched as you spiked the ball onto the court, giving your team another point. She smiled.

"Nice kill, y/n!" Rin high fived you.
"This is getting intense." Bokuto trembled.
"Ever since Kenma was put in, it's been throwing Karasuno off. Kayla and Kenma play the exact same, but the boys haven't realized it yet." Kuroo explained.
"It's yours, Kageyama!" Daichi shouted, bumping the ball. Kageyama prepared a set to Hinata.
You and BB jumped, blocking Hinata's spiked.

Hinata gritted his teeth. "Damn it."
Ukai blew the whistle. You noticed Suga on the sidelines, ready to switch.
"Not him again!" Rin hissed
"It's okay, we have an idea of what to expect." You assured, prepared to serve the ball.
Ukai blew the whistle again. You tossed the ball into the air, slowly running toward inner court.
"It's float!" Noya shouted.
You hit the ball, it floating out of bounds. "It's out!" Tanaka shouted. Suddenly, the ball turned in last minute, landing inside of the court.
The gym gasped.
You grinned. Didn't think it was going to work.
"YEAH!" BB jumped in your shoulders. "That was insane!"
"Nice." Kenma praised.
"Do it again, y/n!"
